My husband and I stayed here for 6 weeks while our nearby house was being renovated. As others have said, it's a bit small for 2 people, but if you don't mind being near each other a lot I think it's fine. It worked quite well for us! It's comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked with basic cooking pots and supplies. The bedroom closet is roomy and the bathroom has plenty of space for all your necessary items. It's an apartment building, so you do get some noise (footsteps from above, voices from next door) but mostly it was pretty quiet. It was great having off-street parking because you don't need to run out and move your car when there's a snowstorm. This is a pretty quiet street, but it's very near Broadway which has lots of delicious restaurant options. It's also a very easy walk to the subway and buses, and if you're a city person who is used to walking, you can also walk over to Assembly Row for movies, shopping, and more restaurants. I really love this neighborhood (which is why I live here!) and this apartment is very nice and conveniently located. John was a welcoming host and responded very quickly to questions. I'd stay here again if I was having another major renovation to my house (but man, I hope I never do!)

This was my second stay at John's house in Somerville after a longer stay in another apartment last year. Everything went as expected and my fantastic impression of the house and John as a host obtained during my first stay was confirmed again. John is in particular very responsive and takes care of his guests at very short notice. The apartment provides for everything you would expect from a holiday apartment. The next T-stop is very nearby and in addition there is a parking spot on the premises for each and every apartment. The apartment itself is not too big but it is definetely sufficient as base camp for 2 travellers exploring Boston and surrounding New England. I will always check first availability of apartments in John's house when making travel plans for New England aging and look forward to returning at a later point in time.

John's apartment is great! The apartment setup is fantastic - all the amenities I needed during my stay and easy to get into when I arrived. The apartment is only a short 5 minute walk from the train station and 15 minutes travel time into the city! Perfect for a business traveller and I would definitely recommend to others/stay there myself again!

I rented this place for my parents when they were visiting. I live a few blocks away. Wanted to get a place that made it easy to get into the city and also close to home. Host happened to be there when we arrived and was very friendly. Left the keys in the hallway for us. Offered to upgrade us when someone wanted to stay in the unit - didn't end up happening because of a miscommunication via the airbnb messages. Place is very nice, modern but VERY small. Technically a 1 bedroom but this is the size of a studio apartment. Probably too small for 2 people if you are not used to city living in small spaces.

This was my first airbnb experience, and John made it very easy. The keys were left for me in the entryway and the apartment was well stocked with everything I needed for the month (sans groceries of course). It was a very nice unit. Spotless, actually. The building overall is well kept, and occupied by other young professionals and some families. Sullivan square station is extremely close, making commuting by t very convenient, and there is a hubway station even closer. A convenience store, liquor store, and two great restaurants are just a block away (I recommend the twin lobster special at Mt. Vernon). Parking was easy, as there is a parking lot adjacent to the building, and for the month my vehicle was parked there is was completely unmolested - something I couldn't say about our hometown of South Minneapolis. Overall I had a great stay, and feel lucky I got to know that small corner of Somerville.
