I spent a fantastic time at Francesca's place. Everything is exactly like described. Very tidy, cool design furniture and a very comfortable bed. Having my own bathroom and own balcony was a real luxury! Francesca is a very courteous host with a lovely personality. Kommunication was exactly how it should be and she really wants you to have a good time at her place. There were fresh towels and even slippers to feel at home. I appreciated a lot her discreet and easy going way to share the same apartment. Thank you Francesca! I totally recommend Francesca's place to stay!!!

Thanks Francesca for the warm welcome and wonderfull stay!! The house was beautiful decorated. This was the first time we traveled abroad with our little baby boy. Francesca was very flexible and helped us to make her livingroom baby proof. She removed the authentic African carpets, to give our baby some extra space to move. The bedroom and kitchen are very comfy. The bathroom is very nice and shower rain shower was fantastic . The appartment is on the 4th floor, so you need to be in good shape

I would not recommend someone to stay at Francesca's place. She basically rents her own room and she sleeps on a mattress in the living room. That would be ok if she was open to let you feel in the house comfortable. She has way too many rules. As soon as I arrived she said please open the window every morning, don't forget to turn off the lights and please unplug everything before you leave the house. The first two things of course I will do them (in general I open the window to check the weather and of course I turn off the lights but the third one, to unplug everything before leaving the house, why?). Anyways, I felt very uncomfortable. There is no access to the kitchen (she says that's in the listing, ok my bad i didn't read it). I am used to buying some milk and coffee and just have breakfast at the houses I rent because I am general there for work so I might as well have breakfast and leave. But she gave me no access, but i have to say that some days she left coffee and toast for me on a tray so that was super nice. One more thing, she doesn't have a closet so you have no space to hang or take things off your suitcase. She was super surprised when I asked where the closet was. She said that everybody leaves their stuff in the suitcase. I think some people might prefer to leave things in suitcases if you are staying just for few days but that should be something that you choose not something that you have to do because the room you rent doesn't have a closet at all. She ended up moving some of her stuff to give me room. Again! Is her own room the one she rents! And last what I think was very rude was the fact that I had to check out at 5 pm. We already talked about this and the last day she knocks the door of the room and let me know that If I had to check out at 5 pm she would charge me 23 euros. I asked if she had someone coming (what in that case makes sense to ask me to at least pack early so she could clean and set the room for the next guest). She said that no, no one was coming, but yet she still charged me the 23 euros extras. She left in the morning for work and no one was coming to that room so really I felt it was just bad attitude to do that. Of course I paid her and didn't say anything all I said is that I have been a host in airbnb for many many years both in NY and in Buenos Aires and I have never ever charged extra if someone left late. It is definitely about having a good or a bad...

Response from Francesca:
The characteristics of what I rent are clearly and honestly described in my profile. It is clearly explained that I am sleeping in the leaving room and that there is no kitchen service and that the checkout time is 11 am. You yourself admitted to me that you had not read carefully my descriptions. Having said that, I feel like I have fulfilled all my obligations towards you as: -I made you find a room and a bathroom meticulously cleaned and in a perfect status which is what I was due to do. -Since I saw you disappointed on the breakfast, I have made you find your breakfast every morning even if not included (you even texted me to say that I am very sweet, so you are a bit in contradiction) -I managed to give you the use of the wardrobe since the first minute when I saw you needed it. -I told you since the first minute that if you weren’t comfortable I would have looked for another place for you at my expenses and you said that it was necessary. -I accommodated your request of holding the booking for you as when you enquired you were not sure about when you were able to book and for how long.. And I reassured you that I would have kept the room until you were sure, which I did. -I even shared with you the use of my hair dryer because you did not have one On your side: -You were not clear on the booking since the beginning “4 nights, 5 nights , I am not sure when I can book please hold the booking for me” . And I accommodated all these things -Not clear on the checkout time when you inquired on the booking -Not clear on the arrival time: you kept saying “I will arrive between 8 and 9 pm but I will let you know exactly when I will book “and you did not. I had to send you a message at 9,30 pm (or so) to know that you were arriving at the station. -I tried to tell you the 4 rules that I have and you immediately reacted saying “I don’t know if I will remember them as I am always in a hurry”. You might nor like rules but air bnb allows me to tell you the rules. They even ask for feedback on rules respect. Houses are not hotels. In any case the rules were 4, not a lot. -You did not respect at the rules of not walking without your boots in the house. You walked with shoes the whole time. Regarding the extra charge: I owed you this money but when you told me that your check out was at 18:00 and you showed that you took it for granted and you did not feel it was important to anticipate this at the time we discussed the booking, this is what I did not appreciated. I tried not to say anything but as over your staying you demonstrated to be arrogant, which made me uncomfortable, I decided that I was not obliged to give this for granted. So I made you notice that you were basically renting a half-day more and I proposed you not to give you back the 23 euros. You could have said no, if you disagreed, and we could have opened a discussion with the Airbnb Team to Let them judge the matter. I also proposed you that you could pack everything in the morning, leave the house and return just for picking the luggage and you said you preferred to keep the room. It is not your position to judge whether it makes sense or not that I let you stay in the house longer for granted. This was a room of a little more tha 45 euros/night and most importantly, not an hotel. Airbnb works on the basis that people are clear in communication, respect the fact that they are in someone else’s house and respect the rules. I did nothing but accommodating you as it was described in the profile and try to be helpful until a certain limit. Next time, please take more time to carefully review the place you rent.

Francesca was a lovely host. Her apartment is just next to the Navigli area in Milan, which is full of great restaurants and bars. Also, if you are visiting during Expo, Francesca recommended some great markets just up the road that have been organised especially. If anything the description of the apartment does not do it justice - it is very beautiful, with a lovely bathroom and a small terrace with a peach tree. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro stop. I would definitely recommend this apartment.
