Our cozy 1960s mountain cabin on an aspen covered acre is walking distance into Pike National Forest. "It's a miniature mountain paradise"! Located less than an hour and a half from Denver lies our peaceful hideaway. Leave your worries and stress behind! The cabin is a short distance from Lake Wellington, and about 8 miles from Bailey. Snug and comfortable, it is the perfect getaway. Inside and out we tried to create an oasis for you away from the rat race. We hope you have a great time!

The space

We are located within an hour and a half from Denver, check maps before you book. It is an easy drive, but please be aware it is NOT IN Denver. It is a snug, cozy space, but should have pretty much anything you need.
Be fire aware and use caution while in the forest.
Due to local fire ban, we have removed the outdoor fire ring, NO outdoor burning is allowed on the property.
We have a full-size stove/oven, a microwave, a panini press, a coffee pot and a refrigerator.
There is an indoor fireplace if you wish to use it.
You may need to bring an additional ice chest for ice or additional items if you prefer to not make more trips to Bailey or Aspen Grove for groceries and supplies.
There is a full-size bed in the bedroom and a trundle bed that makes into either a king or two twin beds in the living area.
The items such as coffee filters, coffee, toilet paper, and trash sacks should be there at all times.

Guest access

You have access to the entire cabin. The underneath is locked.

Interaction with guests

We provide a lockbox on the door, you will be able to let yourself in and out, the lockbox is located on the cabin to the left of the front door. It is a small black box, flip down the cover and enter the code. You will find a key inside. We live about an hour away so you will not see us most likely unless at check out possibly.

Other things to note

Be respectful and aware of nature, the animals, the weather and the forest.

Please remember the neighbors surrounding the cabin do live in the area full-time, be respectful of them.

Always check the Park County website before traveling to know if there are any burn ban/weather information/restrictions.

I would recommend this for anyone! We have the best time! Wish we could stay longer. I suggest checking out Wellington lake while you're here and doing the waterfall hike it's short and beautiful! I can't wait to go back.

This is a nice secluded get away that can comfortably fit four people. It has everything you need including hilarious coffee cups! Clean place and a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee and view the wildlife from either the deck or the front window by the table. We enjoyed the variety of games and the right amount of cell service to play Spotify. Definitely a cool spot to hang and unwind!

This place is just about perfect if you like quiet and trees. There's a pretty lake nearby, and the hosts are very responsive.

Great for a quiet couple weekend getaway. However; if you staying here with friends and plan on going to the city do not get this place. Way out in pikes national forest. Extremely pretty views, the house is tiny and the heat was not working when I was staying there.

Thanks for the feedback!! We provide tons of information about the cabin in the guidebook and on the listing, we try to cover all the bases. It is a small cabin next to a forest, it does have cabin amenities, which are clearly listed. It is heated by a fireplace and we were in a temporary period of not having central heat (which for a 400 SF cabin is pretty extra) and this was communicated prior to guest arrival with a few options given. We try to be very available for questions and such and had no calls, concerns or questions, sorry you were not 100% satisfied. Thanks !
