Tinni and Marie Bee were very accommodating with our every need, and attentive to our requests when we needed anything at all. The studio is located off the main road in Sayan, so there is not much of a neighborhood to speak of. I'd recommend having access to your own private mot…

Response from Tinni:
HELLO MATT, thank you for your message. please allow us to respond. in our Listing about this Studio, we do mention that there is traffic at 7-9AM and 5-6PM, due to an increase of ... tourism in Ubud. Success has two sides to it, one negative and one positive. We also recommend to use a scooter or a bicycle: Ubud is no more a small village, it has spread and the surrounding villages that looked far away in the past seem now to have agglomerated closer to town, as better roads link them. With a Scooter, our guests enjoy exploring the area, places like The Green School with its amazing campus entirely built in innovative ways of using bamboo, the Botanic Gardens, the Bird Park, going to balinese hindu ceremonies, discovering the hidden sides of Ubud with its rice terraces, jungle, anxient temples carved in cliffs, the Monkey Forest and more. The River Ayung is just 100m away, set in a protected Green Belt area, displaying huge trees, bathing spots, an old temple and its spring blessed by the priest, small pavilions dot the river bank to allow a rest, take in the view, do some yoga, paint, have a picnic and take photos.. The neighbourhood is composed of small warungs (local shops where one can have a cup of coffee and find fruit, foods, some grocery, etc), guest houses, private villas, art galleries, restaurants with various ranges of prices, a frame maker, a laundry, tailors, a garage, as well as five star resorts such as the Four Seasons, The Mansion, BaliWood and. Sayan Terraces for their Cool pools, Kupu Kupu, Pita Maha, Amandari and... temples of course. Not so bad, indeed many positive and pleasant aspects ;--) Our Studio is meant for Budget Travellers and yet we offer a fairly good quality of comfort: it is cleaned 2X a week, sheets are changed and laundered, the space is fitted with own designed home linen, using traditional batik, it's regularly maintained by our staff, has hot water shower, a bathroom with plenty of natural light, a desk for writing, a collection of books and local Community News magazines. Also a kitchenette (with gas cooker and a very BIG fridge, basic kitchen ware for two people, a Mineral Water dispenser from a local spring) : we have installed and equipped this kitchenette keeping in mind that people on a budget were to stay here, allowing them to save on eating out. We take good care of the potted plants on the terrace, furnished with sofa, cushions and low table; it can be closed with a bamboo blind for more privacy; we also provide soap, essential oils, towels, ear plugs and sleeping mask ( for late morning sleepers...) and now have installed a good WIFI system, unlimited! We organise OJEK (taxi-scooter) for an inexpensive ride to/from town as well as the Airport pick up/drop off service by our english speaking driver. We are aware that we certainly do not compete with western hospitality, yet our staff wholeheartedly takes care of our guests needs: whenever there is an issue, we immediately tend to it and come up with a resolution in the very best delays. Communication is important to us. Besides... When our guests decide to have a journey away from Ubud, and ask us to take care of their luggage, their computers, their music instruments or their incoming postal mail, we do accept the responsibility, never asking or any extra charge, which other places do. Whenever someone has an accident or is sick, as soon as we hear about it, we advice of a good local healer or even bring medicine to help relieve the pain. We feel it is our duty and our vocation to make our guests feel happy and relaxed, so they can enjoy their time here - we never mind going out of our way to achieve this. And....All this for the more than reasonable price of USD 20/day for two people, with discounts after one week. unbeatable !

The apartment is lovely and comfy and the place is nice, in Sayan village, outside Ubud (10 minutes by motorbike). The staff was correct (specially Nyoman) and overall experience is good.
