Beautifully restored 1800-century farmhouse and pension. We receive single guests during the summer, and groups of minimum five all year. Pefect place to meet for families, friends and colleagues for meetings, workshops and parties.

The space

Beautifully restored farmhouse and historic pension, magnificent situated by the lake Mjøsa, between the towns Lillehammer, Hamar and Gjøvik, only 30 min from each. Also only 30 min from Sjusjøen - where you 'll find the best ski trails in Norway.

The price is NOK 950,- per person per night in double room. NOK 1250.-per person per night if you want the room for yourself. This includes a comfortable bed and a really good breakfast.

Also, we serve our guests a delicious and homecooked three - course dinner at 19.00 every night for the price of NOK 570,-. Our kitchen is based on the season in our own organic kitchen garden, supplied with other local food.

The eight bedrooms are all upstairs, with double or twin beds in each room; 16 beds in the main building. In addition, we have an other house on the farm that beds 6. All together, we can house 22 people.

Our guests are very welcome to spend the evening in the parlours. Hostess and art-historian Ingeborg will be happy to tell you the history of the farm. She has received several national distinctions for her work with the house and the garden. The overall principal for the restauration has been to be as true to the past as possible. You will not find any luxurios bathrooms or kitchens in the house. The luxe lies in the authentic and truly beautiful interiors, and the harmonic situation of the farm.

Our guests share the two bathrooms upstairs, and groups of five people or more will have the house to themselves. Sveinhaug is a great place for parties, events and dinners with family, friends and collegues.

Our Good-Weather- Café, the garden shop and the gallery is open during the summer season. The café is beautifully situated close to the kitchen garden where we also keep chicken and rabbits.

We also have a rustic cottage up in the mountain, close to Sjusjøen or Lillehammer, a 45 minutes drive away. This converted cowshed is now a simple, but really cool summerhose, and we offer it for our guests as a hiking or ski destination. Look up "Sveinhaugsetra" here on airbnb.

Guest access

The house with parlours, veranda, garden and outdoor area is at your disposal. We also have a few bicyckles and a small boat if you want to explore the area.

Interaction with guests
