Our place is in The New Forest and just 8 miles from the cathedral city of Salisbury. It's deep in the countryside, it's beautiful and very quiet; away from the rat race, but 1hr 15 from M25/M3 jct.
It is only for couples.
14x7 traditional shepherds hut, custom-made to order in 2015 by a Cotswold company, from locally sourced wood. Fitted with usual power sockets, wifi available, and very effective woodburner. Converts for seating/sleeping day/night. Immediate access to garden with furniture
Full use of hut and garden area. Key access given to house (beautiful converted barn) for access to private (exclusive use) toilet, shower and bathroom
Interaction with guests
Normally around at most times, in a private part of the adjacent barn
Other things to note
You'll notice how quiet it is, and how dark at night: great for seeing the stars properly! Real countryside for miles around. Loads to do in the area and your host can list all sorts of suggestions: forest walks, heathland walks, animal safari(!), visit to ancient city of Salisbury (and Old Sarum). Plenty of lovely country pubs, village greens, access to the River Avon, and the Test Valley. Mottisfont Abbey (NT).
- Couples only
- Bath, shower and toilet avail 24hr but in house 50 metres away; key provided
- Complimentary continental breakfast provided in hut
Your hosts, David & Amanda, have been happily married for almost 30 years. They moved to the New Forest after David retired from a busy career in aviation, as they love being in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by wildlife. Their three adult children have now all flown the nest, leaving their lovely house very under-used.
David & Amanda continue to travel widely and usually rent from other AirBnB hosts, when theirs is rented out.
They are usually fairly flexible on dates and can often vacate to suit.
