This is a wonderful property with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. It is a remote location so it is very peaceful which is perfect for relaxing in the pool and enjoying the outdoor space. The dogs were a great distraction, very friendly and made up for the fact that we had left ours behind. Gina and Enzo are extremely attentive with daily visits to ensure that all was well or to offer suggestions on where to visit or dine. We so enjoyed the smoked mozzarella Gina so kindly brought down to us and the drinks on their veranda. We had a great time and returned home relaxed and ready for another years slog before we can return again.

We enjoyed our stay here and although we too had issues with the air-conditioning (see previous review) in the bedroom, Gina resolved this for us no issue at all. The house is tastefully decorated , and although welcomes young children, we found it difficult to navigate with our 18 month old and 5 year old, just in terms of safety with the steep stairs and mezzanine height although we managed. We had a number of issues with the water whilst we were here including a sulphuric stench (rotten eggs) and no water at times, however this is due to the location of the property and wasn't an issue unique to the house, but to the area. Gina and her family are fantastic hosts and they really made our stay. The pool really does sparkle and is cleaned daily. It's huge and boasts beautiful views as well as the sun all day. And although it is sometimes shared, this was far from an issue for us and we enjoyed the company. The location is excellent for exploring the region and the hosts are on hand for any tips, information or advice - including restaurant recommendations. We really enjoyed our stay here and it was made by the friendliness of Gina and her family.

Response from Gaetano&Tatiana:
Greg thank you for the nice feed back. Regarding the water, as you rightly mentioned, it is an issue for the whole region. This summer was unusually hot and dry, causing a drought and problems to the main aqueduct. The consequence was water rationing for everybody. The problems should be resolved soon. To make our guest stay as pleasant as possible and avoid water problems, we do have our emergency water tank, which we refill at our own cost. The water from the tank is sanitized, but it is from the tank hence the unpleasant smell. Hope this helps Best regards Gaetano

We used this as our halfway point traveling from Rome to the Amalfi coast and it was perfect! Great way to relax after the busy life in Rome. Pool was great and hosts were amazing!

We were disappointed by our stay at Gaetano's. First, upon arrival, we wondered why there was no garbage can in the 'kitchen'. We realized quickly that it was because they have ant problems. You can't forget even the smallest bread crumb on the floor. Then we had to manage an AC unit in the main bedroom that was barely working. You had to keep it on all day to hope to sleep well at night. Plus the pool is shared. For all these reasons and because of the rather remote location of the flat, we do not think is was worth at all the 200$+ we paid per night. On the plus side, Gina (Gaetano's mother) and Gina's family we really really good hosts. That made the stay a lot more enjoyable.

Response from Gaetano&Tatiana:
Dear Melanie, thank you for the feed back, it has received our utmost attention. I would like to point out that some things are outside our control, but we do our best to make our guests stay as comfortable as possible. The house is in the countryside, there are insect. We spray insect repellent regularly and use some small tricks (move the rubbish bin) to limit the annoyances from insects. AC system works, the area is usually quite fresh, many guests rarely use it. Unfortunately you visited during an exceptional heat wave. It is clearly stated in the house description that the swimming pool is shared, but we try to leave as much space/privacy as possible to our guest. As we did with you. Price wise: given the peak season and the facilities at your disposal, I believe the price to be more than generous and well below any comparable Airbnb ad. Yours faithfully, Gaetano

A simple home with air conditioning but with everything a family will need on holiday. We took the main bedroom upstairs and the kids had the two beds in the living area downstairs. Its all about eating al fresco under the covered area next to your own private swimming pool. There are steps at one end to a height perfect for kids to swim around and a deeper end where we dived in early morning or with pool lights on for a midnight dip! The area is quiet countryside looking over the distant hills drinking wine whilst the sun goes down. There are lovely villages and towns in the surrounding area to drive to and enjoy genuine Italian life with the locals. You will make friends at the house with the 4 or 5 dogs that will quite like to sleep in the shade with you or run round the olive trees chasing lizards! The owner's mum Gina lives on site and is on hand to help or just pop a quick email to Gaetano. It's an excellent holiday home in secluded countryside so relax and swim and enjoy the sunshine!

Very nice house and great pool, you can actually swim lanes. Very sweet and attentive hosts. The 4 dogs come to visit from time to time. Our experince with driving to area sites: Naples 1:15hours, pompeii 1:30, Amalfi 2 hours. Nice small villages and dining in the area. A car is definately needed.
