A LOVELY flat in a charming home with absolutely delightful hosts!!! Jacques is a retired Engineering Professor, and Monique works in Paliative Care... both were incredibly welcoming, willing to help with anything we asked about, kind, and thoughtful! We stayed for a month with our 13-year-old daughters, as our family is travelling for 9 months to french-speaking places to learn more about the world and practice speaking french! We homeschool, so we were in residence a LOT of the time! The flat is absolutely delightful, at the top of the house on the third floor, so we would watch the sun setting deep red behind the windmills on the horizon, every evening! It isn't a large space, however the space has been brilliantly designed so that every inch is usefel... there was loads of room for all of our things (and we had a lot of luggage, everything our family needs for 9 months!) It is under the eaves, with sloped ceilings full of character... absolutely great for our vertically-challenged family (our tallest member is 5'6"!) It is clean and bright and fresh - Monique had left coffee, tea, milk, sugar and juice for us, as well as salt and pepper, and all the cleaning supplies (which made us really happy, as our last NON-AirBnB place had none of that). The beds were very comfy - even the pull out couch, which , as a family of 4, was used every night. The kitchen was adequately supplied, and I cooked all our meals there: 3 grocery stores are well within walking distance, as are 4 bakeries and 5 chocolate shops!!! There are also at least 5 or 6 restaurants within walking distance too, as well as a bus stop about 20 m along the road! We did have a car, which made going into town very easy - but I walked down into central Namur almost every day, and it is a very pleasant 25 minute walk. The scenery is AMAZING!!! Although this flat is on a main road, the view from the central lounge window is absolutely STUNNING, pastoral and green and beautiful! I cannot say enough good things about this flat, or our hosts, or Namur (which we fell in love with, having never heard of it before!) and Belgium itself. We were very sad to leave, and hope very much to come back one day, and stay here again!
