In a village that has remained intact, where time seems to have stopped: cows and horses walk freely in the village. The atmosphere we create in the evening with candles, welcome and passion make it a "unique" place. Charm, art, organic Food and the view on Apuane

The space

What most of people appreciate of La Luna di Quarazzana is The atmosphere :The mannor is 1600 dated and is in an in an old hamlet , overlooking the Alpi Apuane, my guests says it is "The essence of the special". In the evening we put candles in courtyard and sometimes when pass through an artist you could even enjoy some live music. We suggest to have a car to explore the sourrandings and even because there are no buses that arrive here , but if you want to arrive without it , just ask us for a taxi.

This villa is truly amazing and filled with charm. My husband and I stayed here for a few days on our honeymoon and it was very rustic and romantic, truly one of a kind. Ilaria has put her passion into this villa and she was so sweet and helpful. She gave us tips about the area and even booked us a private dinner in a castle nearby! The chef was also amazing, preparing nightly meals with local flavor, fresh ingredients from their garden, and local meats/cheeses & wine. The mountainside views were stunning and you can walk around the grounds of the area, seeing animals, gardens, and the other buildings from 1500's that make up this tiny town of 10 people. Very quaint, unique and it was a true Italian countryside experience that we will never forget. Note: you need a car. The only thing we wished we had known was that the location of the villa was more remote than we realized and is about 20 mins further up mountain roads from Fivizzano in a smaller town. Making day trips to further destinations a bit harder but still doable, (Cinque Terre took about an hour and a half). We would definitely come back and will be dreaming of Leonardo's cooking!

This remote slice of heaven was exactly what we were after as part our honeymoon. I'd highly recommend eating with Ilaria and the others at the house. Some of the best meals we have had in Italy. Perfect place to unwind and get back in touch with nature. The helpful tips and communication was very easy. Very much home to visit again some day. Thanks so much Ilaria xx

Nice secluded place in the Italian Appenines. Very nice area for hiking. We did not have a car and Ilaria arranged for her cousin to pick us up from the train station for a small fee. Breakfasts were very nice and fresh. Optional dinner is totally worth the extra money. Wine is not included. Please have extra cash on hand to pay for extras, as their credit card machine is not reliable. We planned this section of our trip hoping to get cooking lessons. Unfortunately this was not available during our stay. As this is a remote village, wifi and electricity can be spotty. The electricity went out several times during a rainstorm and promptly came back on. The hosts were prepared with candles. Overall an nice "disconnect and recharge" place.

A magical location - highly recommended! Do yourself a favor and book your room now! Ilaria is the most gracious host to this secluded mountain retreat in the tiny, charming village of Quarrazzana. The welcoming committee included Benni the cat, Ciuffo the donkey, a flock of chickens and nocturnal cows. This is more of a traditional bed and breakfast (5 very private rooms and baths with common areas for meals). And the meals are spectacular! Fresh-picked fruits, homemade jams and cakes are the stars of breakfast, while Leonardo prepares the most delicious chef's menu for dinner in the courtyard (not included in room rate). We never ate anywhere else: incredible foods and wine, reasonable price, and we did not want to drive back up the twisty mountain road after dinner! Most nights we lingered in candlelight conversation with other couples from around the world, sharing stories of our days' adventures. Day trips to Cinque Terre, Carrara, Pietrasanta, beach resorts and the sights of the Lunigiana region are easily accessible by car, and Ilaria is an amazing local guide. Beauty, peace, romance..... and magic!

Full of beautiful memory and very grateful we are back home. Ilarya the perfect host and such a versatile and interesting woman, Mario the calm, charming good soul, Leonardo the power cook (a wonderful 4 courses menu for 12 people including service; chapeau :-)), Stefano, Benni (the old cat), ciufo (the young donkey), and this wonderful place up in the nowhere - you will keep a place in our hearts! Thank you for every thing!
