Wander at your leisure through The Circle Garden, a bird and pollinator-friendly “lifestyle garden"—designed to provide a small-scale harvest of organic fruit & vegetables. Feel free to explore the paths among berry bushes, fruit trees, grape vines, vegetable beds, and culinary herbs. The landscape also includes dedicated wildflower areas to support beneficial garden insects. Spring through fall, you will see native and seasonally migrating birds, butterflies, and other pollinators, all happily at work in the gardens outside your space.
You have a separate entrance and private access to the terrace level (bright, daylight basement) and covered terrace/patio. Shared access to the fire pit and paths throughout the back gardens. Firewood for the fire pit is available in the fall and winter.
Off-street parking for one car at the end of driveway and a second space at the beginning of the driveway. Additional parking for a 3rd vehicle on the street in front of our house.
If we have guests staying before you, check-in is after 3 pm. Otherwise, check in is flexible with advance coordination.

Other things to note
Wi-fi is included. Netflix, HBO, CBS, and DirecTV Now (100 channels) are available in the TV room via Apple TV.
Quiet hours 10pm - 7am. The apartment is sound insulated for your privacy so normal activities and music/TV are fine at any time...but please be mindful of indoor/outdoor noise levels after 10pm.
There are no stairs in the apartment or on the entrance path, which is 3-4ft wide, gently sloping, and paved with crushed slate. The path and back entrance are both well lit at night.
Breakfast items are provided before check in and are not replenished during long stays.
We are on a cul-de-sac and parking is limited. Your first two cars must park in the two dedicated spaces in our driveway. A third car for short-term guests, or day visitors for long-term guests, may park on the street in front of our house (not the neighbors' houses). If your group needs more than 3 vehicles, including those belonging to visitors, this apartment is not suitable.
Stays longer than a week are restricted to groups with a max of 2 cars (if you have more than 6 guests for a week+ stay, let's discuss before booking ).
Long stays will have cleaning service, including laundry for linens/towels on a regular basis, several times per month.
Please be aware the space is not child proof. There are games with small pieces; no child locks on cabinets and drawers in the kitchen/bathroom; accessible cleaning supplies in kitchen/bathroom cabinets; etc.
We trust that you will treat our home as your own and we are grateful for your care and consideration. No smoking inside the house (smoking on the private back patio is fine). Thanks for understanding and we hope you have a fantastic stay!
Quiet hours: 10pm - 7am. Night owls are welcome and you may come and go at any time you like! We do have sound insulation between floors and extra insulation in the TV room, so normal noise levels are never a problem. Feel free to enjoy yourselves around the clock...just a little bit quieter after 10pm!
Guests & Vehicles: For short stays, the apartment accommodates 8 guests (max of 3 vehicles). Week+ stays are limited to groups with a max of 2 vehicles. No more than 8 people, and 3 vehicles, may be on site at any time, including visitors. Exceptions are only okay with advance notice and approval.
Parking: use the two dedicated spots in our driveway. Overflow parking for a 3rd car must be in front of our house, not neighbors' houses.
Children are very welcome. Please be aware the space is not "toddler proof."
Enjoy the back gardens at your leisure. Please stay on the established paths while exploring.

I am an artist and especially love the lively, friendly atmosphere and vibrant arts community in and around Athens, Georgia, our adopted hometown. I enjoy painting, weaving, gardening, long walks, yoga and reading. Our two oldest children are college-aged but we still have our 17 year old at home with us. We love to travel and seek out new experiences--and look forward to meeting new people through Airbnb!
