A fun place to stay for a last minute trip to the snow. We had a room w/o a bathroom. The rooms are tiny, but we didn't spend a lot of time there. The bathrooms were always nice and clean. The staff was really nice and the bar lively. I'd come back again for a short stay.

The Redlight was a truly unique experience. From the amazing people that work there, to the authentic decor, everything was amazing. Everything you need is at your fingertips. Towels, comfy bed, shower, library and more. There was even a bar that stayed open late and served food and beverages Highly recommend staying here. I definitely will be returning.

Comfy and warm bed. Clean bathrooms. We booked room #8 upstairs with a nice comforter and lamp. yet we were given ground level #10 without a lamp and sparse bedding, yet towels. After we asked about getting our booked room. We were were told it was exactly the same, but #8 as booked was nicer, so I'm glad we asked to see it. We ended up getting our reserved room, but the lamp didn't work, and no towels. we were also told that we'd get a house tour, but host was on the phone, updating internet passwords and other reservation pages. So we didn't know where the kitchen was, early next morning hubby found a public library(no towels) that we would have loved to have used the night before. The dog is friendly. We stayed on a Tuesday night. Parking across the street was free until 11/1. I'm sure this was all just bad timing.

It was a good crash pad for after the Spartan Race at Squaw Valley. Apparently, they have been running the place for about 6 weeks although the building was an old hotel that has been around for like 100 years. Walking into the place was like an old saloon with cool decor. And yes, there was a bar, and they served light bites. The shared bathroom and shower was very clean. Room was clean as well. The upstairs carpeting was new. The main entrance and private rooms had separate combo lock keys. The staff was very nice and friendly and offered customized waffles and strong coffee in the morning. I would definitely come here again. If you stay more than one night with a car, they do have daily parking spaces available for next to nothing.

We were met at the door by Zake and , Amy, and Abby. They gave a a tour, got us settled in and pretty much gave the run of the common areas. It's a REALLY uniquely artistic with a ton of interesting touches throughout. If we make it back to Truckee, we will DEFINITELY give these folks a holler to see if we can stay with them again!

We made this reservation the same day we needed it a last minute trip. They quick to respond and confirm. We arrived around 9:30pm after a long 3.5 hour drive. Abby & Zach welcomed us and made us feel right to home. The Red Light lives up to its name! There is a little bar with Tapas upon entering it was really nice to have a drink sit down and relax and have a nice conversation with the hosts and other guests staying their. Our room was as described. We had a private room with a communal bath just down the hall. They offered to upgrade us but we chose to keep the room we selected. The place is really amazing! It has a communal kitchen, dining area, and library/den area. We would definitely stay here again. The only one possible downside is the they are right across from the train tracks and the trains do blow their whistles during the night when they are passing through, but I love trains. They do offer ear plugs though!
