Barb was a fantastic host, she gave us information and advise on nice and original things to do. The heritage house is precious in the Sunny Side (Kengsinton) a trendy area with many shops and restaurants. The bedroom was quiet and confortable. I'd go back again.

Years ago I lived in the same suburb as this place, a few blocks away. I loved it then and loved it this time. You're close to the C-Train, the trendy eating & shopping strip of 10th St & Kensington Road, the Bow River, Princes Island Park and the stunning view of the city & Rockies from uphill at the top of McHugh Bluff. Actually the Rockies weren't visible the week I was there due to smoke from bushfires, but they're nearly always clearly visible (dramatically so in winter - it's like you can almost reach out and run your fingers along the top of the peaks!) Amongst this lovely neighbourhood, Barb's place is perfect. It's a comfortable home with plenty of living, dining and personal space. From the front porch you can clearly see the city's skyline close by. If you come during Calgary's beautiful summer, you'll hear the sound of music in the air from the frequent festivals in Princes Island Park - notably FolkFest which was on while I was there. My upstairs room had a comfortable, large bed, a small desk and closet space. The bathroom had everything I needed. I noticed the window which I left open in the warmer weather was double-glazed, which is a must in the winter. Now I probably would have enjoyed my stay in Calgary just fine working from my memories of the place, but Barb's suggestions really put the icing on the cake. She was generous and knowledgeable with eating ideas around Kensington. When we spoke about the floods from a few years ago, she lent me a book she'd bought. Her suggestion to go to Studio Bell is something I'm very thankful for, and would recommend to anyone, especially music lovers. Barb is a great lady, in the classic, laid-back Alberta way. And Sam the cat was friendly company! All in all, I had a great stay, and would recommend Barb and her place to anyone.

We spent a weekend in Calgary to go to the zoo, eat some good food, and go to Kensington's Diagon Alley. This was a perfect location for all of the above and we were able to walk to a lot of places as well as drive to the zoo and downtown in 10-15 minutes. Beautiful neighbourhood and a lovely, clean place to stay for a night or two.

I've stayed in Barb's home three times now, and everything has been wonderful. The space is comfortable and cozy with adorable decor. It's situated in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood that has a GORGEOUS view of Calgary's cityscape, only a 5-10 minute walk from the awesome, hip Sunnyside shopping and dining district. Highly recommend!

The house is beautiful, the bed super-comfortable, the decor charming, the location fantastic --- stay at this place if you have the chance! I would have rated this place a 5+, but only gave it a 4 because due to a cascade of problems (host forget to email the doorcode then had a series of flight connection snafus) that made us unable to enter the house until 1.5 hours after we arrived.

Response from *Superhost* Barb:
Hi Chris, I'm so sorry about the mixup with your arrival. I really had planned on being here, if only my flight hadn't been delayed by several hours. Blair knew when you were arriving, so he should have been available for you. Sorry you had to wait and thank you for your patience. I truly thought I had sent the check in information, my mistake, I thought I had everything covered one way or the other, but somehow things went wrong. I have changed the procedure so the details go out through the airbnb message, so this will never happen again. The place I stayed in Mexico was: Villa Xochipilli [hotel name] Calle Hidalgo #85 [street name/house number] Villa Obregon, Melaque Jalisco (State), Mexico Host: Irma Erazo-McCarrick

Barb's home was clean, quiet, and comfortable! Though our stay was brief, everything was exactly as advertised. I never got the chance to chat with Barb, but she was very quick with communication and sent me all the information that I needed ahead of time. I'd stay here again next time I was in Calgary. This was my first stay in an AirBnB, and it was a wonderful experience.

A great spot to call home for a trip to Calgary. A couple minutes from the C Train which is minutes from downtown. The street is quiet and Barb is super inviting. The cat loves attention too!

I live in the inner city community of Sunnyside, and I love it, with all the shops, restaurants, walks surrounded by beautiful gardens, streets lined with large old deciduous and fir trees. I so enjoy the view of the city skyline from my front porch, which changes constantly with the time of day, season and weather. I have lived in Calgary for 32 years, I've traveled extensively, love the arts, yoga, painting, swimming, walks and coffee.
I have been hosting with AirBnB for 3 years, I have met so many interesting and fantastic people.
If you have any questions please send me an email. I'd love to hear from you…..
