Close to the Kimmel Center, Rittenhouse & Washington Squares, The Gayborhood, PATCO, SEPTA, and South St. The apartment is in a super-central location; it's a very walk-able city. This is a perfect location if you want to see Philly but want to stay in a quieter neighborhood.
The space is small, but it will give you a safe place to stay where you can relax when you need but also be steps away from the most exciting area. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
This apartment features a beautiful new kitchen, hardwood floors, and a comfortable full-sized bed. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet near many excellent restaurants, bars, cafes, and only a block from the Kimmel Performing Arts Center.
It's a studio, so it's all yours during your rental minus a closet in which I keep some of my belongings.
Interaction with guests
I'm a student doing this to help with rent costs, so I'll normally just be at my girlfriend's a few blocks away if you need anything from me. If I'm not there, I'll be within 1.5 hours, so I'll always be available if there is an emergency. I won't drop in/anything like that unless you need me to.
I've also been in the city for over a year, so if you need any suggestions just let me know! My short list is Philly Improv Theater, Mercato (nearby restaurant), and 2nd Story Brewing in Old City.
Other things to note
Pricing: AirBnB doesn't allow me to do this automatically, so I'll just put it here: if you book for 2 consecutive nights, I'll send a 10% discount; 3 consecutive nights and I'll send you a 15% discount. When you message me, just ask about this blurb.
Parking: Meter parking is free from 10 PM - 8 AM, but there are tons of commercial lots, one of which is directly across the street. There are nearby residential permit zones that allow people to park for up to two hours; some of these zones don't enforce on Sundays but please read the signs!
Someone created a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps layer that shows all the free parking in Philly that is super helpful - I've tried to post it here, but this website edits out URLs :-/ . I personally don't have a residential permit and usually leave my car on Christian Street between 10th and 11th, but there's not always a spot. The (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps layer shows all the free, non-meter, non-permit parking in the city though.
A (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) search for "cheap Philadelphia parking" will bring you to some good websites that allow you to price paid parking for however long you need.
The apartment has a full-size bed; one guest took issue with the size, but it seems to have worked well for the rest of the guests and my girlfriend and I are comfortable in it.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
I'm a law student that hopes to make the world a better place for all those in our global society.
I'm an avid runner (everyday since 01/01/2014), musician (guitar, banjo, and piano predominantly), and pizza-party enthusiast.
My favorite way to see a city is to go to a local brewery; it's like getting dropped right into the culture. Plus, beer. :-)
