Interaction with guests
I am an English lady . Husband is a true Texan 4th generation rancher . We are pretty laid back people, entertain outside on weekends sometimes, so anyone would be welcome to join in if they wished to . Children are grown, so its usually fairly quiet around here these days . Other than Henry the miniature horse who makes a point of staying close when cabin is occupied on the chance he may get a carrot
Cabin was built before main house. We lived in it while building. Its cosy...
We are usually around in the house next door. We entertain sometimes,so are always welcome to join in . If you need any info about things in area, a printout is in cabin , or just ask us.Husband is also a real estate agent ,so if looking for property he can help too. Between hosting and traveling using air bnb we have stayed in some great places and met all kinds of interesting people
Other things to note
Theres a swing over the lake to watch beautiful sunsets. And peddle boat/kayac if you feel energetic.Fishing, poles on back porch.Horses love being fed carrots.Just don't expect it to look like the Holiday Inn,it's just a rustic cabin (but with nice furnishing and a great location). Please make sure moderate cancellation policy is understood.Had a few issues with same day cancellations expecting a full refund.Think that's it...Welcome
Wish I could accept pets, but last dog chased all the cows, and was a disaster! Smoking outside please.Oh, and please don't book, then invite a crowd for a party, which one young group did once.
Think thats about It.... we are decent people, feel anyone coming to stay here would be the same .Since GPS sometimes are not accurate for some reason, please try to arrive before dark,or I may have to come find you ,which I've done more than once!
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
We are a very friendly and relaxed multi cultural family. I am English, husband is a real Texan cowboy , born on the land and still runs cattle today. We don't smoke or have our dogs inside , but do have friends over for get togethers sometimes, on the weekends when the weather is good, to cook outside. We do travel, and are in and out, so may not always be on the property , but will be happy to answer any questions, and help with any navigation issues if we are not at ranch upon arrival. Spanish and French are spoken fluently here. This is a working farm, dusty in the summer , can be muddy when really wet,not an immaculately clean city place. Expect to find Highland cattle roaming around, and cow poo by the barns. Rabbits, deer, cayotes and skunks are commonplace.
