Three large private bedrooms available in our home, with shared living spaces: bathrooms, living/dining/kitchen/laundry.

The space

It is an 1880 Victorian home with a large wraparound porch and bow windows. Suitable for small parties or informal weddings and if you are non-traditional/non-conformist, I can officiate as a Pastafarian minister.

Each private bedroom has large, LOW windows, a lot of light, wood floors, reasonable closet space.

A large breakfast is included: buttermilk pancakes, muffins, bacon, coffee and orange juice. Sometimes fresh fruit.

It is a working house, which means that there will be other activities going on: I brew beer and cider on premises and have a small voice/music teaching practice. There may be live events (small salon concerts) during your stay....not often, but it is a possibility. As my guests, you are welcome to sample the beverages and attend the events.

Guest access

Guests will have private rooms, access to the kitchen, laundry, living room, music room, front porch.

Other things to note

The house is still under renovation in some sections, so there will be peeling wallpaper or "unfinished" spaces. Don't expect a "hotel-perfect" experience in 2017, although the guest rooms themselves are ready and comfortable. 2018, there will be a bar and game room and a fully operational microbrewery on premises, but the cost for that is a little messiness in non-guest spaces now. If you are uncomfortable in any way or something doesn't meet your expectations, please let me know during your stay so I can try to make it right.

Kate was an absolutely wonderful host. She communicated with us before our arrival and when we arrived at the house she had desserts and drinks out for us. The rooms were good sized and very clean. She was friendly and welcoming. She provided us with helpful information about the area and our hike. She even cooked us a delicious breakfast of bacon, pancakes, muffins, orange juice and coffee. We had a fantastic stay ☺️

Kate is a warm and welcoming host. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and some chocolate treats which was such a nice touch. Breakfast was perfect too! The master bedroom is very spacious and the king bed is extremely comfortable. It is an old Victorian style place and is under a bit of a renovation however it didn't affect where we stayed at all. This place is lived in, artsy and comfortable with a ton of character. If you're a dog lover you may get to meet her boys. Which I might add are beautiful!! If not, you'd never know they're there. We decided to eat at the local restaurant that Kate works at. Don't let the fact that it's the only place in town. The food is fantastic!!! We are definitely planning another trip and will stay there again! Thanks Kate!!

Excellent stay. Kate (and her children) have a wonderful historic home that they are lovingly restoring. Three beautiful bedrooms rooms and a bathroom are dedicated to her guests, but you can relax anywhere inside or outside the home. She made a wonderful homemade full breakfast for us. And though she is busy she was very generous with her time to fill us in on the history of the area and her home. Excellent communication with Kate before and during our stay and we highly recommend staying here. Great experience & beautiful home.
