This from Showalter Road - and our farm is on the corner. We own land on both sides of the road, so it is very private.

Sunray Farm is in the Indian Valley section of Floyd County. The farm is secluded, but close to Floyd, music & art and wineries - Floyd Fest, Yoga Jam, etc.... You’ll love my place because of it is an authentic old farmhouse - 30 minutes from Downtown Radford and 50 minutes to Blacksburg, and 30 minutes from "Downtown" Floyd!

The property sits on 33 acres, with a small catch and release brook trout stream running through the property. It is very remote... in a rural area on Floyd County.

The space

It is the old "Oscar Marshall Home Place" - built in the 1930's - they raised sheep for woolens.

Guest access

You will have the place and farm to yourself.

Interaction with guests

We are always available by phone or email, and willing to provide assistance when/if needed.

Other things to note

Please note - the farm is on a WELL, and the water, while completely safe for bathing has a high iron content. We recommend bottled water for drinking.

Great property and location. Tons of character. Shower is very small and no tub. Richard is a great host! Keep in mind this is an old farmhouse that is not occupied full time so don't expect perfection:)

Response from Richard:
I will double check - thanks for the feedback.... in the country, we get some homesteaders when we are not around.

We had to change our honeymoon destination last resort and Richard was exceptionally quick to respond and even left a welcome card for us!

Richards and Lori's home was cozy, comfortable and inviting. My husband enjoyed using the wood burning fire place while sitting on their comfortable couch. The master bed was very comfortable. Their home was personalized with personal photos and items. This made the home seem extra special to stay in because you can tell that they have created many memories in Sunray Farm. My minor complaint would be I wish the fly fishing was more accessible and that it held fish. Unfortunately, they had not stocked any of the creeks/streams with trout. This was one of the main reasons we came was for my husband to fly fish. Although,he wasn't able to fish Richard's and Lori's home was the relaxing getaway we needed. I would definitely stay in one of their homes again perhaps thier in Marion which is supposed to be a fly fishing mecca.

We talked by phone just prior to arrival and a note was waiting for us. The place was beautiful and clean. Loved the house and the land. I would definitely go back. It was so quaint and peaceful!

The photos are exactly as the farm looked. The welcome décor of pumpkins, lanterns and flowers gave this such a warm and cozy feel. The host made us feel as if we were family.
