The space

Guest bedrooms have built-in "Alexa" by Amazon, which lets you adjust lighting and temperature by voice, as well as set alarms, get directions, ask about things to do in STL, weather info, etc. Details, details, details! Historic two-family home, renovated in 2013 to a one family. We like "themes" here. Art and accents in rooms often hand-made. Lots of local art displayed.

Guest access

Guest rooms, main floor guest half bath ( toilet/sink for your exclusive use only), upper floor full guest bath (this bath will be used by you if you need to take a shower, and is shared with the upstairs guest room, only applies if there is another guest staying, if not, it is for your exclusive use as well) , upper floor guest laundry off bath, formal dining room, front sitting room, and use of kitchen for light cooking/eating. Feel free to smoke or sip on the lower back deck, or front porch.

Interaction with guests

Please feel free to ask if you need something or have any concerns. We are happy to interact with guests and provide recommendations if wanted, or we can be pretty hands off and let you enjoy your stay. I am always happy to have a chat over coffee or tea, and our little dogs appreciate a kind word, treat, or pet once they warm up to you.

Other things to note

We are in the city. It gets pretty loud here on weekends. You can hear live music from the entertainment district. Guests should plan on parking on Tower Grove Avenue, and entering through the front door. Guests will be given a pin code for door access upon booking.

A note about reviews:
Please contact me during the stay if there are any any issues or concerns. Less than five star reviews in any area severely impact a host's rating on Airbnb.
Value: Home is one of the nicest in the area, and offers more amenities than most similar listings. Hotels start at $119 per night in area minimum.
Communication: Guests can contact me by phone, email, or text, and I usually respond in under one hour. And of course, I try to be available during the stay.
Per confirmation with Airbnb, this is whether location was accurately represented. Not how close you are to your desired destination. I cannot move my home. You can check the general vicinity of my listing prior to booking, and listing details to decide whether the location is good for you. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the train from my home. We are one block from the "Grove" entertainment district, and a 15 minute walk to the CWE or Forest Park. We are one mile from "the Hill", and a short drive from South Grand, downtown, and Soulard.
Cleanliness: Obvious
Overall Experience:
Especially if you are new to Airbnb, or an infrequent traveler, each stay will be different, but if you use the service often, and have comparisons, you will see that I offer allot of details and amenities that many hosts don't.
So please consider carefully before reviewing, and be honest and kind.

Additional note to guests:
Either myself or the housekeeper may enter your room periodically to remove dirty towels and linens, glassware, and to place chocolates or other requested items. Your personal items are not touched. If this is a concern to you, please let me know.

Security Disclosure: Security cameras outside record all footage if you are coming and going from either the front or back entrance.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - One flight of stairs in a 100+ year old home. Very typical in the city. Stairs are very steep and would be challenging for guests with mobility issues
Potential for noise - We live in the city in an entertainment district. Weekends especially can be pretty lively and sometimes you can hear live music from venues.
Pet(s) live on property - 3 tiny elderly dogs. Usually sleeping but like treats. Just let them know you are there prior to petting. Often they won't hear or see you.
Some spaces are shared - Private half bath for you. To shower you must use upper guest bath. If no guests are booked in upper guest room, use at your leisure.

This place is located in a cool neighborhood that is mostly residential with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Shannon is very friendly and a great host. I would definitely go back.

I stayed here for over 2 months and I felt this place as my second home. Everything is cozy and convenient. Shannon is like my sister and the three dogs, Lambchop, Finona and Cha-chi are really cute. The neighbourhood is peaceful and safe. You can also find a variety of restaurants and exciting sightseeing there. It's not too far from downtown. I recommend this homestay if you have a plan to visit St. Louis.

This place is a great example of why AirBnB is a great way to travel. This place has lots of charm in a neighborhood that has a nice vibe. Our hosts were extremely helpful and had great suggestions. Parking is a breeze. Doughnut shop around the corner (yeah!) and fun shops. Short drive to Forest Park with all the cool museums. Botanical Gardens very close by. We stayed here for the solar eclipse and our host was very thoughtful and provided us with proper viewing eyeglasses. Nice touch! I recommend.

Shannon was a great host, and her place was nice, quiet and conveniently located. Lots of cool restaurants and bars and a brewery all in walking distance made this a great spot to explore for a weekend.

Shannon was a great host. She communicated everything clearly and quickly and made sure I had a great stay. Her home is beautiful with original wood trim, hardwood floors, nice furniture, and it is nicely decorated. Shannon is also a great resource for things to do and see in St. Louis. I would certainly stay there again if I am back in St. Louis.
