About this listing

The room is a private slanted ceiling hide-out with plenty of natural light on the second floor of a charming & cosy house, located at Queen West & Bathurst in Downtown Toronto.

The space

The room is a private slanted ceiling hide-out with plenty of natural light on the second floor of a charming & cosy house, located at Queen West & Bathurst in Downtown Toronto.

The room has a double bed with warm duvet and extra quilt for the winter. There is also a small couch in the room for lazing and reading, a little antique writing desk nestled in the window nook and an in-built closet. The room has wireless high-speed internet, hardwood floors and it's own heating vent. The window is south-facing, so that the sunlight bounces off the bright walls for most of the day to create a really welcoming space.

The House

The original part of this house was built in the late 1800's so it has a bit of Toronto history included in its charm. The front entrance is a cedarwood vestibule and the kitchen and sunroom are all more recent additions to the original building. The sitting room has a huge couch that easily fits a long human for an afternoon nap, and the kitchen/breakfast/sunroom area is a spacious spot for a meal or cuppa. There is a hardwood staircase leads you to the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. You can feel the history in the house despite it being updated and freshly painted.

Guest access

Guests have full access to the living room, bathroom, kitchen (gas stove), laundry (washer & dryer), sunroom and back yard/garden - which is very private and a lovely oasis in the middle of the downtown buzz

Interaction with guests

I like to be friendly, but not intrusive. So I'm more than happy to help answer questions or share a conversation.
But for the most part I hang out in my studio behind the house - and the house is available for my guests to make themselves at home.

Other things to note

Only street parking available - but you can get a temporary parking permit online from the City of Toronto once you have booked and have my address.
If it's helpful, I do have a printer and can obtain and/or print your permit for you once you've arrived.

Trish's place is in a great location. The house is cute and homey. It is close to both Chinatown and Little Italy. She is close to quite a bit and it is easy to get to a lot of things by walking from her place. Trish let us know a bit about the house and our location when we arrived, making it easy to navigate once we ventured out on our own. She made sure we had everything we needed in order to get settled and feel at home during our stay. I would definitely stay with Trish again!

I'm a professional puppeteer/performer/mask & puppet builder who works in film, television and the theatre. After many years of travel, touring the world and living in the big smoke, I'm happy now to be living in the country and mostly working out of my home/studio.
I grew up in the country. So after many years in Toronto, I love spending time at my country home in Calabogie where I can fish off the end of my own dock and hear the loons call.
