The cabin is very clean and fully stocked with everything you could think of all the way down to bathroom air freshener. Great value. You feel like you're alone on top of a mountain.

Our stay at Wind Rock Cottage was very enjoyable. The potential for Hurricane Irma caused us to depart the beach a day early and the mountains were a great change of pace to our vacation. We arrived at the cottage after a long drive and spent a quiet evening in the cabin. We opened all the windows in the living room, turned on the gas fireplace, and watched our favorite show on Netflix. The cool, crisp air was nice for the hot tub, as well. Being from Knoxville, we're aware of Asheville as a great destination but Hendersonville is a hidden gem. We'll definitely be back.

This was a great place to stay. Very private and quiet location. Allowed to us to get away and spend some quiet time together. They did a great job with the cabin. Not far from a nice little town. Enjoyed our stay!

The cabin is perfect, they thought of everything you would need and it's very secluded. We loved it and will definitely go back.

If you're not sure if you should choose this spot for your vacation look no further! This is my second time visiting Wild Rock and I hope I can continue for years to come! The first trip I stayed within one hours drive from Looking Glass Falls to DuPont to Asheville but this time I used the cabin as a base camp for the entire western side of NC. Frying pan tower off the Blue Ridge Parkway, did looking glass again, then ventured up to Linville falls, Max Patch, down to Bearwallow Mountain, and Chimney rock. Made it to Oskar Blues and Wicked Weed after a long days hike, nothing's better than a cold beer! The cabin itself was perfect. Clean, safe (especially for someone traveling alone with her small dog), cozy. Fully stocked kitchen and extraordinarily comfortable beds. Awesome wifi but secluded enough to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Simply perfect.

The cottage was cozy and loaded with just about everything a family of four could need. There were plenty of towels, kitchen utensils , and dishes. The location was just a few miles outside the Pisgah Forest and in close proximity to grocery stores, and restaurants. The neighborhood was very quiet.

Wild Rock Cottage is a fantastic place to stay. We were in town for the eclipse, but we discovered Penrose and Brevard to be fantastic places to visit and we look forward to returning with more opportunity to explore. Firstly, if you have a dog, this is a great place for you. The cottage has gates that lock shut around the deck while allows the dogs to be outside while you're in the hot tub or enjoying dinner as well as gates that enclose a small, grassy area. This is in addition to a small yard in front. There are ample conveniences for traveling with a furry companion. The surrounding area was overwhelmed because of the eclipse, but there were cool things to do. You're really close to some great hiking and Pisgah National Forest has some great waterfalls nearby. Eat at the Old Etowah Smokehouse nearby. While in Brevard, try Crank Coffee. At least one meal should be eaten outside on the porch. If you find you need anything, there is also an Ingles pretty close. The check-in/check-out process was really easy. There's a cleaning fee that varies with whether you want to clean up after yourselves. The road in is rather winding and if you're arriving at night, be careful with the fog. The driveway is a moderate incline, but our Prius handled it easily. While windy and hilly country roads at night can be intimidating, Siri navigated perfectly for us the entire time. You're not so far away from civilization that you'll lose 4G. The beds were comfortable. The cabin was well stocked, neat and tidy, and well organized. The wife and I and our two dogs all had a great time. There was an extra bedroom that we did not enter and I suspect this place would be perfectly sized for a family of four people too.

Our family moved to North Carolina in 2000 after vacationing here two years in a row. We now own rental cabins so we can share the experience with other travelers.

Some of our personal favorite destinations when we travel ourselves are Gatlinburg, TN and Charleston, SC.
