My place is close to Queen street West, Trinity Bellwoods Park, Khao San Road, 416 Snack Bar, Kensinton Market, China Town Little Italy, Theatre Passe Muraille & Factory Lab. You’ll love my place because of it's cozy charm, great kitchen, sunroom, light, and lovely private backyard. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The room is a private slanted ceiling spacious bedroom on the second floor of a charming & cosy house, located at Queen West & Bathurst in Downtown Toronto.
The room has a queen-size bed with a goose-down duvet. There is also a desk (& chair), a reading chair and a large closet - as well as a couple of small chairs that nestle together in the window nook. The room has wireless high-speed internet, hardwood floors a skylight and it's own heating vent.
The original part of this house was built in the late 1800's so it has a bit of Toronto history included in its charm. The front entrance is a cedarwood vestibule and the kitchen and sunroom are all more recent additions to the original building. The sitting room has a huge couch that easily fits a long human for an afternoon nap, and the kitchen/breakfast/sunroom area is a spacious spot for a meal or cuppa. There is a hardwood staircase leads you to the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. You can feel the history in the house despite it being updated and freshly painted.
Located on a quiet, tree-lined street 250 metres from the heart of Queen Street West - boutiques, restaurants, cafes, galleries, theaters and bars. For more details on what's close by - read The Neighborhood and Getting Around sections below!
Guests have full access to the living room, bathroom, kitchen (gas stove), laundry (washer & dryer), sunroom and back yard/garden - which is very private and a lovely oasis in the middle of the downtown buzz.
Interaction with guests
I'm always available and happy to help if you need anything from a fresh towel to a tip on where to find a good spot to eat. That said, I won't be too much underfoot as I reside mostly in my "studio" in the back yard detached from the house. Also can speak French more or less and a bit of Spanish.
- smoking in backyard only
I'm a professional puppeteer/performer/mask & puppet builder who works in film, television and the theatre. After many years of travel, touring the world and living in the big smoke, I'm happy now to be living in the country and mostly working out of my home/studio.
I grew up in the country. So after many years in Toronto, I love spending time at my country home in Calabogie where I can fish off the end of my own dock and hear the loons call.
