The GUMSHED is a boutique accommodation provider located in Tarras, Central Otago just 20mins from Cromwell, 30mins from Wanaka and 5 mins drive from Tarras township (entrance to the Lindis Pass) gateway to Aoraki Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo (Dark Sky Project) and the East Coast.

The GUMSHED is well-positioned to enjoy local cycle and hiking trails, wineries, adventure tourism, skiing and stunning local scenery.

Our wood-fired hot tub is just the place to soak after an active day.

Stay Rest Play

The space
The GUMSHED is a very stylish studio space with a large patio, outdoor covered kitchen with sink and weber BBQ plus an armchair seating area.

The wood- fired hot tub is situated adjacent to this space and enjoys views of the Pisa Range and Southern Alps.

Although the GUMSHED is attached to our main house it is completely private with it's own entrance, zen style dry garden and designated parking area.

The GUMSHED sits on a two hectare rural property with extensive views and a working farm opposite.

Guest access
GUMSHED guests are most welcome to enjoy the entire property.

Catering is available on request, by prior arrangement (48 hours notice)

Please note our fire pit is only seasonally available (due to local fire restrictions) so do enquire at time of booking as to it's availability during your stay.
