The place is basically as described just make sure your able to check in within designated time slot or else have backup accommodations ready. The host overall communicated promptly until we really needed response about checking in.

Response from Dianne:
Yvette, I sincerely apologize for the miscommunication and inconvenience. We did communicate with your traveling party several times before your arrival, and we extended the check-in time by two hours. Our circumstances were such that we were unavailable to check guests in after that time frame.

I had a great experience at Dianne's place. Dianne's place is not designated "superhosts" for no reason. Dianne and Gabrielle picked me up from the Metro bus station. Then, they gave me a thorough walk-through of the space and provided extras in the studio I didn't expect, like coffee, teas, and snacks. The space is good for easygoing travelers. It's close to a part of the beach that is somewhat secluded but very peaceful in the mornings. This area is especially nice for morning jogs. "Marias" restaurant, on the main street to the right, open from 11 am-2 pm has delicious local food. Mojito Bar has delicious octopus creole. Dianne and Gabrielle are both incredibly kind and try to be attuned to the varying needs of their guests. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to them and getting to know them. It was a pleasure ladies! One piece of advice: if you decide to ride the motoconchos, make sure to get on and off from the left side or you may burn your leg on the exhaust pipe!

We had a great time at Dianne's. The studio is very spacious and comfortable. The area is quiet and peaceful but far from the center. There's a beautiful garden view from the room and there's hot water. Dianne always made sure we were alright and she even put breakfast things in the fridge. Thank you!

Dianne's place was the best place we stayed in DR so far (writing these after staying in 3 places). The studio is bright and view to the garden is really beautiful. Dianne is an awesome host, she is caring and nice. She speaks English and Spanish, which is very helpful. You have access to all the things you might need for a comfortable accommodation. There is a beach and grocery store in walking distance, too. Also, check empanadas on the corner) You will definitely enjoy your stay if you choose this place!

Dianne is a very friendly and generous host. She picked me up at the bus station and was very helpful pointing out things in Cabarete and giving some tips on where to go and how to get around. The apartment has a lot of space, and it was clean and comfortable, and it's definitely a good way to save money being able to cook for yourself. The location is also very nice. It's a little outside of Cabarete. There are a couple colmado's and a couple cafeteria's just up the block, and it's a 5 min ride into town by car/moto/guagua, where there bars, restaurants, supermarket. Or a 30 minute walk along the beach. Definitely would say it'd be perfect for couples and very good for solo travelers on a budget who want a break from hostels.

I’m from the U.S. and have lived in Cabarete for one year, managing this beautiful property. I ventured to the Dominican Republic with a desire to live more simply and to be immersed in a Spanish-speaking culture. I love the ocean, the warm weather, and the pollo guisado con habichuelas y arroz (stewed chicken with beans and rice)!
