About this listing

The space

The breakfast area is located in the family kitchen overlooking garden. Guests can have access to the garden at breakfast time ( weather permitting). The large king size bedroom ( with sofa and chairs) and double bedroom all have free wifi. The family kitchen is not available for use by guests.

Interaction with guests

David is a native of Edinburgh and Susanne moved to the city over 30 years ago from her home in Cheshire/Stafordshire. She has run her own business in the city for over 25 years. With children having flown the nest David and Susanne enjoy using their free time to welcome guests to their comfortable home(URL HIDDEN)Inverleith is ideally situated for exploring the city on foot. There are lovely walks nearby including the Royal Botanical Gardens and (for the less energetic) the City tour bus passes the front door (bus stop in close proximity).(URL HIDDEN)

Susanne and David are very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. They made us feel very much at home in their lovely house with interesting paintings and visuals on the walls. We stayed in a large, bright room and enjoyed pleasant breakfasts in the kitchen looking out onto the garden. their house is in a particularly fine street, right next to the botanical gardens and though within easy walking distance from the centre, it is very quiet - we slept excellently well.

Great host, great place. Everything was simply in order, and the house is really a few steps away from the bus stop, which takes you to the center in about 10 minutes.

Enjoyed our time in Edinburgh thanks to Susanne's hospitality and her lovely home. It's probably the first time I stayed in a very well-decorated home (via airbnb). Everthing is as described in the listing - lovely bedroom, bath with heater (I always love having hot shower after a whole day of walking), breakfast with toast, fruits and flakes, etc. It's a 20min walk from Waverly or 5-10 mins by bus or taxi. It's less than 5min walk to the east gate of Botanical Gardens. Most of all, thanks to Susanne's hospitality, ie for waking up early to prepare our breakfast (we appreciate that a lot), for letting us check out late, and lastly, for sharing her lovely home to everyone here in Airbnb. If I go back in Edinburgh again, I'll definitely stay at Susanne's. Well recommended!

Susanne was a wonderful host. The accommodation is stunning and presteen. The beds are very comfortable and I had the best nights sleep in a long time. Susanne provided a lovely breakfast in her gorgeous kitchen area. The location is an easy 15 min walk to the centre in a quiet area with some lovely coffee shops. I highly recommend; thank you Susanne for a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful period home in a great part of Edinburgh. Spotlessly clean and with comfy rooms/beds we were made extremely welcome and the stay exceeded our expectations. Susanne was a fabulous host and we would return without hesitation.

We had a wonderful experience, especially liked the location next to the Royal botanical garden. Our hosts were quite attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. It was within walking distance I would estimate 20 to 30 minutes to the downtown destinations of the Royal mile but we also enjoyed the local restaurants and thought they were quite good recommendations by our hosts David and Suzanne. The breakfasts were great and they also left nice snacks like delicious fruit and vegetables. The bed was comfy and tea in the back garden with David was perfect after an overnight flight from the U.S. We would highly recommend this place and the hosts!

The room was charming, spacious and well furnished. Our hosts were charming and went out of their way to give us a great stay in Edinburgh - the breakfast was great (in all senses of the word). The house itself is located about 20 mins pleasant walk from the centre (a good base for enjoying the Hogmanay) and the immediate neighbourhood has a lot of good, independent shops and eateries. Highly recommended!
