We were made very welcome by Andreia's family despite the fact that we were late to arrive at destination. The house was exactly as described and is well equipped and everything was clean and tidy. The garden is a delight and Andreia's parents supplied us with endless fruits and vegetables, smiles and help when needed. The surroundings are ok and the house is very peaceful and tranquil. However, if you want to explore the surroundings a car is definitely needed. Santa Cruz is a good place to go and have fun and there are plenty of places to eat, relax and things to do in the summer months. The little village of Vimeiro provides basics if needed but unfortunately no restaurant in walking distance. Peniche is definitely a must with great restaurants and good beaches. We enjoyed a visit to Ericiera very much. Basically, exploring the area will give you a good feel for Portugal. Lisbon must definitely be visited, but a few days are best to appreciate what this beautiful city has to offer. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend Andreias's house to anyone without hesitation.

We loved our stay in Vimeiro. If you're looking for peace and quiet then this is a great choice. Andreia's parents live downstairs and made us feel very welcome, although they were hardly ever there so you often had the place to yourself. Arlindo picked us up from Torres Vedras station and drove us around the local area to show us where everything was which was above and beyond our expectations. We didn't have a car and managed to get by, although it would have made life easier. We cycled to the beach and the supermarket with no problem, and even to Santa Cruz a few times. There is a small local bus that serves the village and local beaches, but unfortunately this only runs in the peak season and stopped operating on our first weekend. Same goes for the swimming pool, which was glorious but unfortunately closed after our first visit. Worth bearing in mind if you are planning to visit out of season. The fresh fruit and veg from the garden were delicious and I perfected my gaspacho recipe during our stay! The beaches in the area are stunning and rarely busy. We had surf lessons with the Noah surfschool in Santa Cruz, which I would highly recommend. Also the food in the adjoining restaurant was excellent too and perfect for a special occasion. If the peace and quiet get too much for you it is relatively easy to get to Lisbon for some action. The bus is actually much faster than the train so I would recommend that if you are planning a trip to the city. Andreai was always quick to reply to any messages or questions we had. We were both working from home and did have a few issues with the internet but Andreia always sorted it out as quickly as possible. Other than that we had everything we could possibly need for our month away. BBQ, blender, bikes, towels and an umbrella for the beach. Vamos voltar com certeza!

We’ve just returned (a family of six) from a week staying at this lovely house in Vimeiro. Before we even got there, Andreia had contacted us to find out what we might be interested in doing while we were there so that she was prepared with information. She offered us advice about car hire and at one point, even proposed to meet us at the airport. We were greeted at the house by Andreia and her father. I must say the pictures do not do the place justice. It is bigger and airier than it looks and the garden is absolutely stunning. We visited at the end of June and the hydrangeas, daisies and agapanthus(?) were glorious. They had made us a delicious cake, and brought us a basket of fruit from the garden – amongst which were the most delicious plums I’ve ever eaten. Andreia then drove with us around the local area to give us recommendations about where to shop (ask about the fish van that is in the village at 8.30 every morning!), where to eat and which beaches to visit - unbelievable service. The area is beautiful and tranquil, with stunning views, and the house is perfectly equipped with more linen and kitchen equipment than you could possibly need. Our 11 and 14 year old had fun riding on the bikes, and we all cycled to the beach on local pool on a couple of occasions, which was lovely - but a car is needed to get the best from the area - we had surfing lessons at Santa Cruz beach, for example. Andreia's parents were so kind and welcoming, despite the language barrier - we muddled through in French and gestures. Andreia's mother brought us two further puddings over the week – chocolate, that we devoured in one sitting, and the most delicious cinnamon rice pudding I’ve ever eaten - I had to learn the Portuguese for "delicious" so that I could tell Andreia's mother over and over! Also, they told us to pick what we liked from the garden - so we had a type of bean I'd never seen before, and lots of juicy greengages and plums. They and Andreia always answered any questions we had with speed and good humour. It goes without saying that I would recommend staying here, although I hope its deserved popularity doesn’t mean it won’t be available when we want to come back! Thank you so much to you all.

We stayed this summer for two weeks and were really pleased with our stay. The cottage is an ideal place, far from the busy world outside. However it isn't isolated from the beaches, swimming pools, shops etc.. The warmth and kindness of the hosts made our stay memorable. Very safe for children to play in the big garden. I really felt at home in this cottage. Thanks to Andreia and family for everything, host most responsive to all requests.

Ggf. DANKE SEHR!
