This cozy basement apartment with a super comfortable queen bed, futon sleeper in the living room, office space, kitchenette and bathroom is the perfect respite for your stay in the city. The apartment works great for people with a car or using public transit. We are super convenient to the Moda Center or Oregon Convention Center and Legacy Emmanuel Hospital as well as the great eating and shopping in the Alberta Arts district, N. Williams Ave and Mississippi Ave.

The space

Located in the basement of a charming, 1903 Portland Foursquare, this 1/1 bedroom will comfortably sleep four people and you'll find the kitchenette handy for warming up food or making your morning coffee. Better yet - try the brand new washer and dryer - perfect for travelers who've been on the road for a little while!
With your own entrance though our backyard garden, you will find super soft new corn fiber carpet, a kitchenette with a small fridge, toaster, hot water kettle, coffee maker and grinder, a hot plate and all the equipment for making light meals, as well as your own washer and dryer. There is a 4 person dining area, a living room area with a TV powered by an Amazon Firestick, a cozy bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed, desk, and large closet attached to a bathroom with a shower stall.
For a basement, the space is surprisingly bright. We have used all low-VOC paint and non-offgasing carpet to create a healthy space for our guests. The yard is a shared space with all the guests and there is a outdoor dining table and Adirondack chairs for enjoying your morning coffee.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a basement apartment in a home that frequently has children and other Airbnb guests staying in the unit above you. They have quiet hours posted from 10 pm to 8 am but you will be able to hear them moving around and talking occasionally.

Guest access

Guests will be able to access the entire basement level including bedroom with queen bed, bathroom with shower stall, kitchenette, dining area, seating area with TV and a futon sleeper. Guests are welcome to enjoy our yard and all the flowers that grow there. Feel free to make a little bouquet from what is flowering now.

Interaction with guests

We are pretty busy with our kids and commute between Portland and Ashland, so in order to make sure you have the assistance you need, we are working with a local team who can answer any questions you might have or point you in the right direction!

We had a lovely stay at Allison's! She gave us fair warning about the noise and children in the house so we were cool with it! The location was ideal for our visit to the Portland area! Would certainly recommend to anyone!

The place was great location, very cute, much larger than we expected and very clean. We got lucky and it was super quiet our first night as it seemed no one was around upstairs. The second night a family did arrive and as warned before arriving it was indeed quite loud. They were in bed fairly quick so it wasn't too much of an issue. We did get warm when the upstairs guest arrived and had control of the central air. We would recommend this location and it's close to an easy bus to downtown and easy parking. Nice and clean and great!

Great location with a short walk to Alberta. Parking, access and check in were easy. The unit itself matches the description very well. The owner keeps a good schedule with the follow up cleaners, so if you are going to be late to check out please inform Alison as soon as possible so you don't delay the cleaners like I did. Sorry about that! Thanks again Alison.

We stayed at Alison's place on a long weekend trip to Portland. The suite was very clean and well kept, exactly as described. The location was also good; walking distance from the shops and restaurants on Alberta St and very convenient to drive to the other Portland neighbourhoods.

Cute, clean, comfy basement apartment in the Alberta Arts District. There are lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques within walking distance. As others have mentioned, the noise from upstairs can be a little loud early in the morning, but if you're going to be out and about all day, it probably doesn't matter.

This is a great spot for 2 to 4 people. The place is kept spotless and very organized. The location is fantastic, close enough to get around Portland in no time but in a residential area that’s quiet and peaceful at night.

I caught a red eye from LA and didn't arrive at the place until 3am. I'm so glad she texted me a picture of where the lockbox was so I want stumbling around trying to look for it in the dark. It's in a great location just a few miles from downtown and not a bad rideshare if you have to go all the way to Beaverton. My kids and I enjoyed the place and the bonus was there was a fire stick so after a long day of walking through Washington Park and downtown it was nice to unwind to a couple of movies at the end of the day.

Hiya! We are a native Oregonian and Bible Belt transplant with two small children. We bought the house a long, long time ago when the neighborhood was very different and Portland wasn't nearly so cool (but still pretty cool, man). Even though the neighborhood is super dynamic with lots of food, shops, theater, live music, fun parks, and a stones throw to some of the most beautiful places anywhere, we decided to give our kids a little more of a country life. We bought a run down property in the country and are busy bringing it back to life and while we do that we decided to open our home to Airbnb guests!
Mostly we are in the country and our wonderful co-host will be helping you. We hope you get some love and give some love to our good friend, Prescott House, and that you have a great stay in Portland!
A little about us: we are Morning Dance Routine people (Stevie Wonder, The Meters, Radiohead, Queen Bey, William Onyeabor, The Clash). We love to hike, grow and make delicious food, intimate dinner parties, Dorks, being new places, madrone trees and dahlias, crass humor, and all forms of beauty. We don't like snobs.
