Great check-in experience

We are close to The Heart of the National Forest and a few minutes' walk from the town centre with a range of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

It's great for couples and business travellers alike (and there is a sofa bed for an extra guest if required - small charge).

It's a mile from the A42 and just 20 minutes from Tamworth or East Midlands Parkway railway stations and 15 minutes from East Midlands Airport.

Loads of leisure facilities, walks, cycle rides and historic buildings nearby.

The space
The Old Coach House was built in 1860 for a traveling draper who lived in our main house next door. We have lovingly converted it to create a home from home that is great for business travellers and couples taking a break or visiting the area (there is a sofa bed downstairs suitable for an extra guest if required).

The layout means it’s not ideal for pre-school children and older children might find it “a bit boring" for more than a night or two!

If you want the sofa bed making up (whether you are a party of more than 2 or just two guests that prefer separate beds), please book in as 3 guests then we'll know! (There is a small extra charge to cover our servicing costs for this.) Thanks

Ashby is an historic market town with it's own castle (English Heritage), indoor market, plus a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets.

There's loads to do in the area - within 5 miles you'll find golf courses, leisure centres, swimming pools, Hicks Lodge Cycle Centre, Conkers family adventure centre, "Rebound" indoor trampolining, dry ski slope off-road cycle routes and miles of beautiful countryside walks. The National Trust's Calke Abbey and Park is 7 miles away and well worth a visit.

Within 30-40 minutes drive, you can be in the centre of Nottingham, Birmingham, Leicester or Derby so we are particularly well positioned for anyone regularly working away from home or as a stop-gap whilst relocating.
