The cottage is a spacious 50 square meter living area featuring a kitchenette, dinning area, comfortable bedroom and modern en-suite bathroom with shower. The kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave oven, one plate induction table top stove, toaster, crockery and utensils. You’ll also find a ready supply of ground coffee and South Africa's famous Rooibos tea! If you stay longer than three days, a complementary bottle of South African wine will await you on your arrival.

In summer you can have meals outside in any of the three outside garden patio areas. The bedroom features a comfortable double bed with crisp linen and duvet. The room also includes a hair dryer, extra blanket, towels and television with movie channels. In colder months you will find warm cosy winter linen, an electric blanket and a heater to keep you snug. There are many extras that make it a home away from home - loads of books to read, and a large selection of music CDs with sound system. It goes without saying that the WiFi is free and fast, making communication with your loved once at home easy!

My wife and I spent two weeks at Adeline and Char's lovely cottage and we couldn't be more satisfied. They were most communicative and very helpful before and during our stay. Meeting us upon arrival with fruit juice in hand, they were the most gracious hosts. They met all our needs, including helping us in advance to coordinate our stay in Johannesburg with our safari north of South Africa. The cottage was spotless, equipped with all we needed, and, best of all, had the most comfortable bed with luxury linens! The garden, joined by Matisse and Lexi, and the outdoor dining spaces added to our pleasant stay. Even without a car, using Uber we were able to get around and visit all the sites we planned. We would certainly recommend staying with Adeline and Char!

Great hosts who accommodated my sister on her first trip alone. They made sure she was comfortable. Always on hand to assist but also allowing space. The cottage was neat and well looked after and clean. We would definitely recommend staying with this couple.

I highly recommend this accommodation for those who want a comfortable getaway from the city without being too far away to be inconvenient. Adeline and Charl are wonderful hosts. I stayed with them for about 2 months and they were very friendly and accommodating. Two genuinely lovely hosts in Joburg. Thank you, Adeline and Charl! The house is located about 15 minutes (drive) from the CBD, 10 mins from Park Station (Gautrain) and about 5 minutes from Melville (my favorite part of Joburg). The immediate neighborhood isn't threatening. There's a mosque, a park and a primary school nearby so it's a lively but not too loud street on weekdays.

I have spent 5 weeks in Adeline's Garden Cottage in Brixton. For a visiting scholar, the place is very conveniently located, as it is close to UJ. Adeline and Charl are excellent hosts, helpful, with good tips when you travel around or simply for Jo'burg in general. The cottage is a calm and ideal place to work. I enjoyed the books and the CDs they have. It is also nice to sit in the beautifully kept garden. Thanks a lot!
