Maggie and Paddy's cart lodge is in a very secluded location and great for relaxing. There are plenty of Public Right of Ways nearby, including through the grounds themselves, which makes it easy to go for short or long walks. We made use of the tennis court a couple of times, which was in very good condition, and also enjoyed befriending their livestock (even if they are mostly destined for the dinner table!). The cart lodge itself is more than adequate for a 2- or 3-night stay, and was a great base for exploring the Lavenham area. Homemade bread and marmalade, butter and some milk was provided which was a nice touch, especially as the bread and marmalade were absolutely delicious! The only negative I envisage some people having is the poor internet connection, but you don't go to rural Suffolk to surf the web! In fact, it helps to further remove you from the stresses of modern life. We will definitely return to Maggie and Paddy's cart lodge for a peaceful weekend should we wish to explore the area again in the future.

If you like quiet, private out of the way places, this is it. Lovely freshly converted outhouse, with all facilities for a comfortable, relaxing stay. On your own away from the main house, you can do your own thing.

We had a fantastic stay at the Cart Lodge. Maggie and Paddy have thought of everything! The lodge has been beautifully restored and is warm and cosy. It makes a perfect exploration base for Lavenham and the surrounding area. Would thoroughly recommend!

Our children having begun to fly the nest, I thought it would be great to be able to carry on welcoming people to our house by way of bed and breakfast. Please come and stay and see the place we think is a magical place to live.
