The space

This is a corner 2-story home (approximately 1,300 sq. ft). The downstairs is bright and airy with a large living room and a beautiful large kitchen and eating area that opens up to a stunning deck and backyard. There are new hardwood floors throughout and a remodeled kitchen. The 2 bedrooms (queen sized bed in each) are very roomy and are located upstairs. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The open living room has a large flat screen TV.

The house comfortably sleeps 4 - 6 people. This home connects to another home (also on airbnb) via a large deck and grassy backyard. Depending on your needs, you can rent one or both homes.

The large backyard and deck has comfortable furniture and a gas barbecue. This area is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing with a morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine.

Top to bottom, you will find all brand new furnishings. Cozy beds, down comforters, 100% egyptian cotton sheets, plush towels, new appliances, couches, tables, etc. TV w/deluxe cable, Wi-Fi, washer dryer...all of the comforts of home and so much more than a hotel room.

Experience the best of all possible vacation worlds where you can enjoy your own remodeled country home. Yet, you are just a few minutes away from the heart of Sonoma Valley with wineries, fine food, art, music, theatre, spas, shops, state parks, Jack London’s home, Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway, golf courses, horseback riding, balloon flights, biking and hiking all within minutes of your doorstep. Indulge yourself with a tour of Sonoma’s world-famous wineries; luxurious spa treatments; tour the countryside on bicycles; taste the flavors of Sonoma’s award-winning restaurants; explore historic sites in Sonoma County. We had a wonderful stay at Carolyn’s house. It is close to downtown Sonoma and Glen Ellen’s with its many wineries. She also gave us many useful tips of where to go.

We stayed in Carolyn's place while visiting Sonoma for a friend's wedding. Unfortunately we had to evacuate on our second-to-last night due to the October 9 wildfires. If her house is still standing when the dust settles and the fires are all put out, we highly recommend staying with her. The house was very nice, the location was perfect, and she showed a lot of care and concern about our safety and security during the fires even though we are sure that her friends, family and property were at a lot greater risk than we were. Great host. Great house. Great town. Our thoughts and well wishes are with all of the people of the area right now while they begin the recovery process.

Great location in between Sonoma and Kenwood. The amenities are nice and bedrooms are a good size. We have small children who need to take naps and it does get hot in the afternoon without the AC. But it cools down in the evening so not a big problem if you leave early in the morning and only come back at night. Host is very responsive and the house was kept clean.

Carolyn's place was great. Secluded yet also close enough to wineries and a few great restaurants and a market in Glen Ellen. We did have a little confusion about the lack of AC when we checked in (we're from Florida so never heard of a place without AC) but the portable fans and opening windows worked fine during the day and the temp dropped enough to be very comfortable at night. The place was spacious and fit our needs exactly. We very much enjoyed her backyard porch for lounging after a long day of wineries and site seeing. I'd recommend having a vehicle because nothing is really walking distance but a 5 minute drive and you'll find a great little Glen Ellen Market that will have anything you need, a few great restaurants (The Fig and Glen Ellen Star were great!) and 5-15 minutes will yield lots of wineries (our faves were Benziger and Kunde). Yelp works great for finding these.

Host was very responsive. No A/C but host provided enough fans. When we were there, it was hot (90s) in the AM, but got really cold at night. Dining options were either the Historic Sonoma area (10 mins away) or a strip with 3 restaurants on Arnold Dr (Fig Cafe, Glen Ellen Star - we ate at the latter place, good food). Great alternative to the pricey hotels.
