Charming rustic refurbished water mill, run on solar panels, in the heart of the countryside. House shared with owners; big double bedroom for guests, we can put an extra bed in the room for 2 extra guests; large kitchen; small river/stream adjacent

The space

A nice place for some rest and relaxation, it is known to my friends as a place to come and recharge ones batteries. The peace and quiet of the area, the tree-shaded garden, and the cool river makes it pleasant even in the hot summer. The house is very rustic and unique. The Zahara reservoir is ten minutes away by car, offering swimming, kayaking and water activities. Our main guest bedroom is spacious, if needed we can put an extra bed in the room for up to 2 extra guests.

Guest access

internet (excellent wifi connection)
full use of kitchen
fridge space (but it's not very big :)
coffee, tea, pots & pans, spices, etc for cooking
some produce from the garden when available
bedding, blankets, etc

information on the area

Not included:
please bring food for your stay, the supermarket is far away

Interaction with guests

We will be sharing the house, we are friendly folk and like to get to know our guests :) We can pick you up from the gas station of the closest town (Montecorto) since the mill can be difficult to find first time round. Simple breakfasts can be provided upon request (coffee, tea, toast, cereal, etc.)

Other things to note

Please note that the electricity for the house is from solar panels, so please don't use hair dryers as they eat up a lot of electricity :)

Many thanks!

For Nature and quietness lovers. Unique place far from the city noise and stress. All rustic and hand made. Hosts Kamron and Ruya are sweet and friendly. I had a great time there! Strongly recommended!

Our time at the watermill was wonderful. It is a remote and rural cottage in a beautiful setting and our hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming with loads of knowledge of the localilty and nearby walking routes.

We absolutely loved the house and wished we could stay longer. We slept in, it was so quiet and cosy. Cameron & Ruja were lovely. Thank you!

Mike being away for work, we had contact with Kamron y Ruya. And they are, as lots of comments already describe them, interesting, warm and very accomodating hosts. They make you feel home from the first minute on. The mill is a wonderful place, and the valley where it is nested is just an amazing paradise, making me think about south-west france's Basque country, but wilder. There is a lot to see in the area. Interesting place also for birdwatchers. I just wish we could have spent some more time there. So much to see.

well... this experience has been the closest to the Airbnb idea which i had ever come across with.. very personal, the hosts were totally engaged in our experience in and out of the house, i guess we all got on very well together, so i think it's been quite organic and the opposite to premeditation, so please if you go be open minded! The house is VERY charming and in a beautiful surrounding, but if don't expect a hotel like acomodation, this is a different story. The hosts were international, educated and genuine couple taking care of the house and the hosting. I highly recommended!

I've lived in Spain for over ten years, and I bought this mill about 7 years ago. Since then it's been in a constant process of renovation and improvement, so what you see today is an ecologically sustainable oasis in the heart of the Andalucian countryside. I've just finished my commercial pilot's license and have gone to look for work with NGOs as a pilot- as such I have left my mill in the capable hands of Kamron and Ruya who will be your hosts while I am away. They are both open minded well traveled and very interesting multilingual people - I know they will look after you well :)
