We booked Antonio's apartment because it met all our needs - I was traveling with my adult son and we needed 2 bedrooms, and I prefer to have a kitchen. Also of course the location is ideal for visiting the ruins. Antonio was a good host and made sure we found the apartment quickly, escorted us to it, showed us the washing machine which is a pay/honor system unit, and explained the place and the check-out procedures. Because most of that conversation was crossed between English and Italian, I might not have gotten everything he said but I think we were good. There were a few things with the apartment that didn't agree with me - nothing huge but a traveler will be grateful to know about them before booking. 1, the apartment faces a large public deck that others staying in the building can and do use. Thus, most of the doors and windows in the apartment are in essence on ground level with people coming and going. 2, it's up more flights of steps than I had assumed. I guess that's my fault for assuming. 3, and this might just reflect my particularities, all of the furnishings are modern Ikea-style stuff, made of sawdust and glue. I found myself bothered by the indoor air quality due to the furniture off-gassing formaldehyde fumes. Most people don't even realize they're being exposed but I do and I don't care for it. This of course was compounded by the lack of privacy I mentioned earlier, where leaving windows open meant potentially being visible from the deck to other guests. For an apartment in a grand old building, some grand old furniture would be much more appropriate. But it's a fine location in a very un-touristed part of Italy and if you need two bedrooms and wish to explore the ruins of the area, you may well not find a better spot!

Antonino was a great host! He picked us up at the train station and let us feel welcome. The location is very good, close to train station. Great wifi. The apartment was spacious with a perfect view to Vesuvio. From inside you could hear noise from neighbors, but that was not a problem. One the mattress was not good as well as the pillows. The shower did not worked properly - couldn't stand hot temperature. Thank you for all!

Quiet area with great views from a big semi-private terrace overlooking the bay of Naples. The construction indeed is in progress, as some reviewers already noted, but it does not start early in the morning and the workers are not very numerous and are being very quiet. Warmly recommend for a family or friends visiting Pompeii or Herculaneum! Photos match the actual apartment and the host speaks some English, enough to be able to communicate effectively with a non-Italian speaker. Antonino, thank you for having us, we had a great time, even dared to drive to Napoli center, despite the fact you advised us to take the train! It was a real adventure (90% of the cars are bumped...)

We arrived early without issue and were met in the orange tree lined garden by Antonio. Antinio was happy for us to move in and sped up the cleaning of the room to accommodate our early arrival. The villa was ancient and the exterior was undergoing repairs, with scaffolding covering the msin entrance. The interior had reasonable presentation, feeling like a chapel or castle in places. With large stone work and big wooden doors. We climbed to our rooms at the top, which included a roof balcony that was practical but not pretty. The rooms themselves where good but had a couple of flaws. No bathroom lock, cracked toilet seat, larger shower head needed replacing and some other easily fixable items. While it appears to be very much a work in process, we had a great time here. Pompeii is a short drive or train away, as was Vesuvius. In our two nights here we got a lot done and I would recommend it for a more authentic Italian experiance. P.S. bring a phrase book as few speak English outside of the main tourist attractions.
