About this listing

"West is Best" is what long time residents like me say. More frantic & polluted on the Eastern part of HK island from Wanchai & beyond. If you want charm, this is the place to stay. Funky bars, alfresco dining, great transport. Minimum stay 1 nite.

The space

Mid Rise. Mainly owner occupiers. Great layout. Spacious lounge. Corner unit. Plenty of natural light.

Guest access

Great bars and restaurants in Central, a mere 10 minutes away by cab.

Interaction with guests

I am a sociable animal but also quite a private person. I know the city like the back of my hand although originally from London.

Lesley is a thoughtful host and I enjoyed staying with her for 3 nights in August. (Before I came we chatted and I mentioned I was visiting HK to meet up with a foodie friend, and she had laid out articles on where to find the best eats in the city!) The apartment is located a 2 mins walk from a main road with a steady stream of taxis to take you into town, and is just round the corner from Traders hotel. The apartment itself is cosy and has lots of natural light. It is on a high floor so it doesn't really get any street noise. The room has a comfortable single bed with a good amount of built in storage, plus it's own air conditioning unit. The kitchen has a hob and fridge. There is plenty of hot water for showers. My only HK non-positive from the three days was waiting to get a taxi back west from Central station (it's only a 10min taxi ride but was a little long to walk with my friend). The taxis have a switch-over of shift around 4pm so I just managed to time it really badly - something to keep in mind re taxis. Anyway, thanks for everything Lesley :D

Response from Lesley:
All hotels outside of Central District run a FREE shuttle service into Central and Airport Express. I had sneaked a copy of the free shuttle from the concierge at the Traders Hotel and pasted it in the kitchen next to the coloured print out of what can be recycled. I am sorry you didn't see that. As your friend was a guest you could both ride the shuttle from Central back to the Traders hotel which is less than a 4 minute walk from my apt. As for the taxi change over HK residents like me usually know exactly WHICH corner to park ourselves in order to get a taxi. Next time Jenni!
