The space

This holiday home is a bright one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a traditional building on the historic Royal Mile in the centre of Edinburgh. The apartment is within easy walking distance of the major tourist attractions, festival venues, shops, nightlife and transport connections.

With large double-glazed windows, the living room is light and looks out on the historic Canongate. The fold-away dining table and chairs give you the chance to eat at home if you tire of the huge selection of local restaurants and cafes. The kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware, as well as a washing machine with tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is an electric oven and a gas hob.

There is a standard-size double bedroom and a shower room. The bedroom is at the back of the property and has a very quiet outlook. The apartment is set back from the Royal Mile and up four steps, or there is easy step-free access to the property along a ramp if you prefer access without steps.

The apartment has gas central heating. The price of gas, electricity and local taxes is included. For the comfort of future guests, the apartment is non-smoking and pets are not allowed.

We loved the apartment. Douglas and his wife were waiting for us and brought some strawberries and shortbread biscuits as a welcome present. It was very easy to be in contact with them, by email and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) messages. The location of the apartment is perfect, right on the Royal Mile. We didn't need to use transportation during the 4 days we were there. The place is absolutely great, comfortable and has everything you need. If I would have to say anything, I¡d say that a more comfortable table would be great. But everything was perfect. We absolutely recommend this apartment to stay!

If you are looking for a spotless apartment that is well-equipped and incredibly well-placed in Edinburgh, you need look no further! The Canongate apartment was perfect for my two weeks of study time. Close to everything but quiet and peaceful--even during my July stay. While, I'm a slow walker, the Castle was only 20 mins away for me and I made it to Waverly Station in less than 15 minutes. It took me about 20 minutes--at my pace--to get to New College, Princes Street and the Uni of Edinburgh Library. My host was friendly and super helpful. Doug met me to show me through the apartment, answered all my questions and even had milk and shortbread waiting on me. I'd be more than happy to stay here again and hope that opportunity presents itself in then not-too-distant future.

The apartment is located at the perfect location which gives easy access to all sightseeing places. Its an awesome apartment having all the facilities. Its about 5 min walk from tbe Waverly Station and in case someone has luggage can take a cab which will charge the minimum fare. One can seriously consider this apartment!! Thanks a lot Martin and Douglus (owner of the apartment)...

The location is amazing. You are in walking distance to just about everything: shops, restaurants, attractions, public transportation. Theven hosts were incredibly accommodating and very helpful.
