Our remodeled 2 br, 1 ba mud adobe Bungalow is in Barrio Viejo, one of Tucson's oldest neighborhoods. It is walking distance from the Convention Center, theaters, museums and downtown restaurants. The solid 15" plastered mud adobe walls, wood floors, entry door and windows are all from the original home. The kitchen and bath with concrete counter and floor are remodeled with modern appliances. There is more living area on the covered back patio that overlooks the garden.

The space

This vintage mud adobe home has over 900 square feet. The front and back bedrooms each have king beds with down comforters. Bed sheets and towels are provided. Its recent remodel added concrete floors and counter tops in the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen includes modern stainless steel appliances. Washer and dryer are onsite. There is a combination of newer and vintage furniture throughout.
The fenced backyard has a covered patio with patio furniture, fireplace, table, chairs and a charcoal grill.
Street parking only.
WIFI is available and working well.

Guest access

Guests have full run of the home and yards.
When renting both our Bungalow and our Casita the gate between them can be unlocked to allow access to both back yards.

Interaction with guests

I am available by phone or email most anytime.

Other things to note

Wi-Fi and Internet via cable modem and wireless router.
Housekeeping is available for an additional fee.
The home is on the bus route - so buses can be heard through our vintage windows. Also, it is convenient to I-10 so some freeway noise is notable from the back yard.
I also own the 2 bedroom pink Casita next door. A gate in the backyard fence can be unlocked to provide access between the houses for larger groups traveling together.

The charming bungalow is as pictured. The backyard is a fabulous space. It is the most well equipped property we've ever stayed in. We really enjoyed it.

Bungalow has a great warm, casually elegant feel in a great location for downtown Tucson activities. It was fully equipped and accurately described in the AirBnB listing. Cleanest place we have stayed at. Walked to gem show at convention center, a concert at the music hall and all along the Turquoise Trail tourist route. It was by car 42 minutes to the Tubac Art Festival and 18 minutes to San Xavier Del Bac Mission. Mary Lynne's restaurant suggestions were great - we did the 5 Points Cafe, Cushing Street Bar, Downtown Kitchen and Maynard's Deli. It was easy to control the heat/AC. Street parking was always available in front of the Bungalow. We spent sunsets on the tranquil back patio. This is an urban setting so there is a hum of traffic from I10 but local street traffic is light in the evenings. The area is "re-developing": there are construction sites, vacant lots and beautifully restored old homes. We walked throughout the barrio. We encountered some unfortunate homeless people at very spots in the barrio and in downtown Tucson. Communications with Mary Lynne were all by email, very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

This is our second time staying at this bungalow. The location is fantastic. It is within easy walking distance of Congress street and all the great restaurants in that part of town. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable.

Our family had a wonderful holiday week at this place in Tucson. We enjoyed walking thru the historic neighborhood and looking at the Christmas lights. We were welcomed with kids' toys in the backyard and appreciated being able to walk to a neighborhood playground. We had all the amenities we needed and the beds were super comfy. It might just be us but we did find the TV systems to be somewhat challenging. When we asked for a tutorial, we got a quick response and had no problems after that. The area felt safe to us but the street is not completely full of houses (some empty lots) and not all the houses seem inhabited. Nonetheless, it was in a cool neighborhood and we would definitely stay here again.

We'd loved the Bungalow. Essentially this is a very nice 2 bedroom house, very nicely furnished - easy to love. We stayed for almost 2 months, so it felt like a home away from home.

Mary Lynne 's casita is very nice , even better than the photos. the location for us was perfect. We were walking distance from downtown Tucson for access to all the great restaurants , shops ,theatres, and convention center shows. The foothills , Desert museum, Sabino canyon are all about a 20 minute drive away. Mary Lynne and her husband were kind enough to wait for us to arrive at around 10:00 P.M. and make sure we could access her house. After that she was accessible , while giving us our privacy . She also thought of every comfort for our stay to be just like home.

Mary Lynne User ProfileMary Lynne is a superhost.

I grew up in Tucson and still enjoy staying in my vacation homes there. I recently retired from health care technology advising / consulting. My work took me to many communities nationwide and provided me opportunity to visit Mexico and several European countries (love Italy and Mazatlán).
I host two homes in Tucson's Barrio Viejo. I'm happy to learn about my guests and why they are visiting. I'm usually available by phone and messaging, but pretty much leave guests alone during their stays.
I now live in the mountains just outside of Bisbee, AZ where I have settled down a bit to learn new things about myself and the world around me.
I like sharing great meals and conversations with friends and family. My favorite movies and books are mysteries, historical fiction and action adventure tales. I enjoy live music especially when its outdoors and attend Bisbee Side Pony Express, Bisbee Blues Festival, Tucson Jazz Fest and the Tucson Folk Festival. I've also made it to the Telluride Blues Festival a few times as well as South by Southwest in Austin, TX. I love doing all of this with Paul.
