This beautiful house has space for everyone including off street parking for two cars. With three independent bedrooms it will accommodate a large family or a group of friends. On a quiet and friendly block in historic Algiers Point, just 2 blocks to the ferry, you will be able to enjoy the excitement of the French Quarter and able to return home for a soak in the tub or to relax with friends and beers in the courtyard; refreshed and ready to further your adventure in the morning.
From the exposed brick fireplace to the 12 foot tall ceilings in the parlor and dining room, this beautiful house has been thoughtfully renovated to accommodate a group of up to six people (and two cars!). With historic appeal but modern amenities (3 full bathrooms!) Maison de Mauve is a beautiful and comfortable house for people who want to have a quiet neighborhood retreat after an exciting day in the French Quarter or Bourbon Street.
Owner Pete has pieces of his art collection throughout the house, you will enjoy art from overseas as well as local pieces from New Orleans auction houses and festivals.
As a guest to Maison de Mauve you will have access to the entire house and all outdoor spaces. The back shed is not accessible to guests and is locked.
Interaction with guests
I am available via text/email/phone throughout the day. I will respond immediately by whichever is your preferred method. I live about 15 minutes away from Maison de Mauve and can easily meet you there if need be.
Other things to note
If you are traveling with little ones, please let me know when you book so I can comfortably accommodate them. As a mom of a toddler I understand how important it is to be able to travel as a family, I'm here to help: I've got a pack n play and a travel bassinet I can set up at the house, but I need to know in advance.
From the owner: You are not just renting a house when you stay here, you are renting a neighborhood and a home. Please enjoy your stay and the culture which is New Orleans.

I have lived in New Orleans since 2009 after visiting every couple of months in 2007 and 2008 when I lived in Austin, TX. I finally settled down and bought a home in 2012 after having explored many neighborhoods. I still enjoy exploring this amazing city and I constantly discover new things!
I love New Orleans and have worked in hospitality for many years here; I'm so happy to have started my family in this amazing city that I now call home. I'm proud of my Chef husband who is the executive sous chef at one of the luxury hotel properties here, I've learned so much about regional dishes because of him.
My favorite things about New Orleans: crawfish season, Mardi Gras, The Saints, the French Quarter, the museums, City Park, the architecture, the people.
