As a guest to Maison de Mauve you will have access to the entire house and all outdoor spaces. The back shed is not accessible to guests and is locked.

Interaction with guests

I am available via text/email/phone throughout the day. I will respond immediately by whichever is your preferred method. I live about 15 minutes away from Maison de Mauve and can easily meet you there if need be.

Other things to note

If you are traveling with little ones, please let me know when you book so I can comfortably accommodate them. As a mom of a toddler I understand how important it is to be able to travel as a family, I'm here to help: I've got a pack n play and a travel bassinet I can set up at the house, but I need to know in advance.

From the owner: You are not just renting a house when you stay here, you are renting a neighborhood and a home. Please enjoy your stay and the culture which is New Orleans.

Gabriel's place was perfect for 6 adults (2 couples, 2 friends). It is roomier than the pictures suggests, and having three bathrooms was a treat. We loved being so close from the ferry, and enjoyed strolling around the neighborhood. We were especially thrilled to find a great coffee shop a 2 minutes walk away. Gabriel was a wonderful host. She was very responsive and even stopped by the next day when we mentioned having issues with one of the bathrooms. We'd book the Maison de mauve again on a future trip to new orleans without hesitations.

A beautiful, comfortable Victorian shotgun row house in a quaint, safe neighborhood of similar housing stock. Very spacious with the camel back extension; the photo of the front of the house doesn't reveal that. A great AC system. Quiet streets and friendly neighbors; easy access to the French Quarter via the ferry. A perfect 3 BR fit for the four of us, two single siblings and a married couple. --Rob, Long Island City, NY

This was truly the perfect New Orleans air bnb during a humid, sometimes rainy, summer week with 2 foodie teens. The house is charming and crazy roomy with 2 BR and baths downstairs, master BR and bath upstairs, needed laundry after sweaty and wet days, super quiet and great AC, and absolutely awesome location. House is a short walk to ferry, great coffee house, and lovely neighborhood walking. And it's dead quiet. Algiers Point is a 6 minute ferry ride, leaving every 1/2 hour, to French quarter and rest of city, and we used LYFT if we missed a ferry, needed to split up, occasionally used our car. I honestly can't recommend it highly enough and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Gabrielle was a great post, very easy to communicate with, and made check in and check out super easy . I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in Algiers Point. It is very easy to hop on the ferry to get across the river to the heart of downtown New Orleans, an easy 2 block walk Algiers Point itself is very charming, a nice place to stroll about. There is a very nice coffee shop to get breakfast, and there are a few pubs. As far as I could tell there are not many choices for dining out, you need to go in to New Orleans for restaurant variety The house is very well equipped, very clean, all three bedrooms have their own bathroom and the master bedroom on the second floor is very large with a very large bath and closet We did not do any cooking, but the kitchen has everything and if you choose to do that it would be no problem The courtyard is a sweet place to have your coffee or wine--beautiful flowers!

This was an excellent home to stay in while visiting New Orleans. It's a quick ferry ride away from the French Quarter and close to a few cute restaurants in Algiers. The house was bigger than I had expected, which was great! This house feels very homey, thanks to Gabriel's welcoming attitude!

I have lived in New Orleans since 2009 after visiting every couple of months in 2007 and 2008 when I lived in Austin, TX. I finally settled down and bought a home in 2012 after having explored many neighborhoods. I still enjoy exploring this amazing city and I constantly discover new things!

I love New Orleans and have worked in hospitality for many years here; I'm so happy to have started my family in this amazing city that I now call home. I'm proud of my Chef husband who is the executive sous chef at one of the luxury hotel properties here, I've learned so much about regional dishes because of him.

My favorite things about New Orleans: crawfish season, Mardi Gras, The Saints, the French Quarter, the museums, City Park, the architecture, the people.
