About this listing

A quiet haven in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, Sadie's Place borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, just steps from the Mountain-to-Sea Trail, kayaking and fishing. Nearby you can find great wineries, shops and restaurants in West Jefferson. Our guests love the cozy atmosphere and well-equipped kitchen. We have great outdoor space with a fire pit, covered porch, hammock and stream. Sunset views! Great for a group, family or couple. Many have enjoyed solo and artist retreats here.

The space

This is a 1930's Sears Kit House. Delivered by rail and assembled on site. A beautiful, sparkling stream runs the entire front of the property, We back up to the woods of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is an amazing sunset view from the covered porch. Lots of olds fashioned rockers, a hammock swings from the old oak trees. The kitchen is a fun place to cook with a window looking out toward a pasture and always birds at the feeder. Upstairs is large converted attic with a queen and single. Downstairs has one bedroom with double bed and futon chair that can become a neat bed for toddlers. Living Room has RokuTV. Futon couch makes an unusually comfortable bed if needed. The "Big Room" is the main indoor gathering space. Large wood table seats 12. Rockers by the wood stove. Queen and bunk beds are great for sleeping by night and reading or napping by day. Additional kitchen cabinets and counters makes feeding a crowd a breeze. Large deck and terrace.
We're not fancy, just comfy and fun.

There is a wood stove in the big room and a fire pit on the terrace. We will provide enough wood for your stay. Feel free to bring additional wood if you really enjoy having a fire all day/evening. Awesome stay! I can't thank Debbie and her family enough for opening this little slice of heaven to our family. We enjoyed the home, butterflies, humming birds, cool days, stars and the front porch sitting! Thanks, Steve Miles Tampa, FL

Our family loved staying at Sadie's Place. It's peaceful and restoring for the adults. It's fun to explore for the kids. Absolutely beautiful location and quite an adorable house that fit the 6 of us very comfortably.

Sadie's Place was perfect for our group of six. We particulary enjoyed spending time together in the "Big Room". The setting is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and all agreed it was one of our favorite trips. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thanks so much for everything, Debbie!

We had a wonderful stay at Sadie's place. It was exactly as they said - not fancy, just comfy! & that was so perfect! The house and land left lots of space for relaxing and enjoying time together. The kitchen had everything that could be needed...plus much more! We quickly felt at home here and were able to enjoy our time to the fullest!

Great location and great value. Debbie was great to work with and the property is as exactly as it's portrayed. We also caught six trout!

Our family enjoyed our weekend stay at Sadie's Place. The home is in nice secluded location which provides guests an opportunity for wonderful star gazing. The home is well equipped both in terms of bedding / linens and kitchen supplies. Debbie does a great job communicating her guests to ensure everything is in order prior to arrival. Just be aware one should make a wide turn on to Severt Alexander Drive from the main road if coming in from Blue Ridge Parkway unless you own a vehicle with amble ground clearance. We look forward to returning to Sadie's Place again in the future.

My husband and I enjoy life. We love sharing our homes with others who appreciate beauty, joy and simplicity. We have 5 adult children, 6 grandchildren and an ever-changing array of friends and family who share our world. We dance, camp and love the arts. And we really LOVE to play tennis. We help run a camp for teenagers each summer FUN! Host retreats and workshops. And generally try to stay in the moment.
