A quiet haven in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, Sadie's Place borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, just steps from the Mountain-to-Sea Trail, kayaking and fishing. Nearby you can find great wineries, shops and restaurants in West Jefferson. Our guests love the cozy atmosphere and well-equipped kitchen. We have great outdoor space with a fire pit, covered porch, hammock and stream. Sunset views! Great for a group, family or couple. Many have enjoyed solo and artist retreats here.
This is a 1930's Sears Kit House. Delivered by rail and assembled on site. A beautiful, sparkling stream runs the entire front of the property, We back up to the woods of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is an amazing sunset view from the covered porch. Lots of olds fashioned rockers, a hammock swings from the old oak trees. The kitchen is a fun place to cook with a window looking out toward a pasture and always birds at the feeder. Upstairs is large converted attic with a queen and single. Downstairs has one bedroom with double bed and futon chair that can become a neat bed for toddlers. Living Room has RokuTV. Futon couch makes an unusually comfortable bed if needed. The "Big Room" is the main indoor gathering space. Large wood table seats 12. Rockers by the wood stove. Queen and bunk beds are great for sleeping by night and reading or napping by day. Additional kitchen cabinets and counters makes feeding a crowd a breeze. Large deck and terrace.
We're not fancy, just comfy and fun.
Guests have access to the entire house, laundry room and large outdoor space.
Interaction with guests
We often travel, but whenever possible we meet guests on arrival to answer questions. Always available by phone or text.
Other things to note
There is a wood stove in the big room and a fire pit on the terrace. We will provide enough wood for your stay. Feel free to bring additional wood if you really enjoy having a fire all day/evening. It's also fun to gather sticks and small branches from the property as you hike. We have a guest book with information about the house and property as well as maps, menus, and suggestions for activities nearby.
No Smoking inside.
Take out garbage and recycling when you leave.
Feel free to use spices and condiments, but replace if you use the last of something.
Monitor children's use of the art materials... no markers on furniture or walls
Use only designated blankets and towels for outdoor use.

My husband and I enjoy life. We love sharing our homes with others who appreciate beauty, joy and simplicity. We help run a camp for teenagers each summer FUN! Host retreats and workshops. And generally try to stay in the moment.
