A wonderful piece of paradise! This villa is a true home from home, with all the benefits of your own home and yet the stunning facilities and location of a holiday home. The villa is in a beautifully remote, secure and peaceful location, nestled amongst a glorious well maintained garden, with an incredible pool to relax in and enjoy the tremendous views of the mountains beyond. It is even better than it looks in the photos! The villa is family friendly, as well as being equipped with plenty of seating areas for socialising. Well placed tables and chairs at the front of the villa allow you to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun and seating around the back of the villa to enjoy lunch in the sun and all day long until it sets beyond the trees. The stunning gardens wrap around the property, which our 5-year-old son had endless fun running around the fruit trees, up to the play area with a slide, swing and climbing wall, then on to a football pitch and back around the villa to the pool area where we spent hours swimming and relaxing as a family. We would collect fallen apples to feed to the horses, and even had fresh poached pear with ice-cream. Inside the villa is stunning too, the air conditioning units keep the place very cool, the bedrooms all have balconies with views to die for and the beds are so comfortable too. The kitchen is perfect and spotlessly clean, with a hob and oven to use if you don't want to use the pizza oven or BBQ. There are plenty of rooms to relax in, the diningroom table converts to a pool table, the livingroom has a wonderful open fire and the bathrooms are luxurious too. We felt so relaxed and welcome here - a real treasure - by far the best holiday home ever! We will definitely be back :).

Welcome to Mario's fantastic country home! This secluded property nestled into the hills among acres of olive groves is a beautiful oasis, especially during the heat of the Italian summer. You are certainly getting a home rather than a holiday house, with beautiful decor and all the facilities you could wish for. The kitchen is especially well stocked, more so than any holiday rentals we've been to before. The swimming pool - a brilliant size and great depth for our 7 and 10 year olds - where they spent most of their days! It is a constant depth around all the edges and half the pool allowing them to stand up, with the other half being deeper to allow for the kids' entrance acrobatics! Just remember to remove your belongings from the poolside at night as the local fox cubs have a taste for swimming goggles and flip flops! :) The pool and rest of the garden is beautifully lit at night, allowing a very comfortable moonlight swim. The Garden - wow, what a garden! Beautifully manicured, green lawns, ample seating, football/volleyball pitch, play equipment, fruit trees (apple, pear, plum), vegetable garden, horse paddock & farm animals! Our kids loved checking on the animals every day, and being able to help yourself to the produce of the garden is an added bonus. Mario - he feels like a firm friend, although I've never met him! He has been in very regular contact ever since booking our stay, with extra information and photos. On arrival we were met by Mario's friend Lucia (also fluent English speaker) and shown around the house. During the few hiccups we had (stop of municipal water & electricity supply, escaped horse!) Mario was instantly available to resolve through instruction or call out someone to help. The location - beautifully secluded, you'll certainly need a car to get there and around. A large local well-stocked supermarket is a 3 minute drive way. We visited Naples, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Pompeii (great guide recommended by Mario), Amalfi Coast & Saepinum, all by car (the local drivers are something to experience too) - just remember to spend plenty of time relaxing at Mario's!

In the sweltering heat of summer, we stayed for two weeks at this lovely villa, overlooking a country-side valley and mountain and amidst orchards and hilly roads. The outdoors pool and indoors airco did wonders to cool off the entire family of four while the fireplace inside would have kept us warm in the winter. Even though the two-story villa is wonderfully spacious and makes you feel at home in every room (including a pool table in the front room, a separate lounge room with heater and typical Italian kitchen) we spent most of our time enjoying the lovely breezes on the spacious patio, overlooking the large garden and pool. Truly a slice of heaven this outdoor area allowed us to make pizza in the pizza oven, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner using ingredients from the local vegetable garden, overlooking the valley and listen to the crickets at night while enjoying a local wine or home-brewed beer. Our son enjoyed the animals who reside at the back of the garden, a pig, chickens and ducks and further down the hill the donkey and ponies. When he didn’t want to venture into the hot sun, there was a foosball table, playground and of course the saltwater pool. The pool is what drew us in the first place to this wonderful spot, and we enjoyed it every day when we were not in the hammock under the tree or swing near the pool. It was such peaceful bliss that even two weeks seemed too short. Secluded from the world it was ideal to finish up a novel in writing or a stack of magazines waiting to be read. Still, the local surroundings allowed us to venture out for fresh pasta, gelato and daytrips to Pompeii, Napoli and Rome. But even the closer villages of San Lorenzello and Cerreto Sannita were real treats, soaking up local ceramic artistry, espresso sipping and late-night dining under the stars. We combined these outings with days where we simply relaxed at the villa, watching life go by and out own hectic lives coming to a full and completely restful stop. We have been to many countries and had many short to middle-length vacations, but this one was by far the most relaxing.

Mario's country house is the perfect get away from it all destination. It's quite remote but within a short drive from the villages of Telese Terme, Guardia Sanframondi and the town of Benevento. There is also a well-stocked local supermarket which provided everything we required. The house itself is well-maintained and has beautiful views across the valley. It's a modern house In a traditional style and is spacious with good air-conditioning. Mario was an ever-helpful host making sure that we had everything we needed and making us truly welcome to his summer home. He was open and trusting and wanted us to feel free to use all of the facilities of the well-equipped house. We cannot fault this house as a destination for a family to spend time together relaxing and enjoying the beautiful gardens terraces and pool.
