We are proud to offer a hammock dorm which is a unique luxurious form of amenity-rich camping (often called glamping). You don’t need bring all of your bulky camping gear on the airplane in order to experience the best camping in the United States

The space

This is a dormitory. That means you are sharing the room (or in this case the cabana) with other unrelated people. There are three people under one roof.

Each cabana is screened in for comfort allowing the tropical breezes to flow through and each has closeable rain shield curtains to keep the wind and water out when necessary. They each include a large adjustable hammocks which allow for either flat or cradled sleeping. The hammocks can each hold up to 450 lbs or 204 kg. Also inside, there is a solar powered overhead light with pull cord and a large cooler to store your cold food and drinks with an ice block (sold separately nearby). Towels, blankets, and pillows are included. Don’t waste your Hawaiian vacation cooped up in a hotel room. Come enjoy the real Hawaii, where the gentle breeze and tree frogs will lull you to sleep each night.

Guest access

Glampers have access to our open air full bathroom with running water and a stunning rainfall shower (located at the main house). They also have access to our covered outdoor kitchen with grills, a sink, prep space, dining area, dishes, cups, silverware, and cookware (also located at the main house).

Definitely a MUST for adventures people!! It was my first time sleeping in a hammock and I loved it - the sound of the nature at night (if you're a light sleeper I recommend using ear plugs) and waking up seeing the sunset!! An other highlight was the "open" shower - showering while looking at the green of the nature and listening to the noise of the nature! Unfortunately I had only one night here, but when I'll come back to Big Island one day, this will be my place to stay!

Stayed one night, but it was wonderful! Quiet, clean, easy to get to from Hilo with a car and following the directions provided. Wish I could sleep with the wonderful breeze and sounds of nature every night.

While I didn't get a chance to meet the host of the property, everything was great about the stay. Nestled away from the small town near the falls, the property has a real tropical feel. While I ended up sleeping in the main house, the cabanas looks clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend Bri's BBQ if you are staying here.

You get what you see on here. Secluded, close to the nature and full of greenery. This place is neat, well maintained. It was soo relaxing sleeping on the hammock listening to the sounds of birds, frogs, lizards(beware if this is not your thing - they get really loud) after a long day of hiking. I would totally recommend this place!!

This place is very beautiful and a unique experience. The hammocks are so comfortable and to take a shower with a scenic view is incredible. I loved this place and highly recommend it.

It was a nic experience to sleep in a hammock right in the middle of nowhere. I had pretty bad weather at the night I stayed there. So it was getting cold, wet and noisy (surrounding jungle noise + wind). I can recommend this accommodation for everybody who loves to go camping and sleep in a tent.

Response from Mathew:
We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We cannot control the weather, but we do provide extra blankets and closeable rain curtains in the cabana that you were staying in to make it more comfortable on rainy nights. It is true that you will hear tree frogs at night and birds in the morning, but most guests find these rainforest noises to be very pleasant.

I'm an outgoing type who values the experience of travel. Airbnb helps me to afford to travel more. I love meeting new people. I actually grew up in a Bed & Breakfast so hosting seems to come very naturally to me.
