Cozy stone house in countryside of St Gervais, 25 km to Bordeaux. Serene location & wonderful view out onto garden grounds. Close to renowned vineyards, Bordeaux, St Emilion, Blaye, and Atlantic Ocean beaches. Perfect for holidays or business trips.

The space

Formerly the stable to the main house, this is now a charming and quiet home surrounded by a large 5-acre garden grounds. The house, 115m2, has one bedroom with a double bed, plus a living room that can serve as a bedroom as it contains one double sofa bed and an extra single bed. There is a lovely and spacious property view from the bedroom but we invite you to take a leisurely stroll. Depending on the season, you will find plums, cherries, hazelnuts, walnuts, persimmons as well as colorful bursts of flowers and shrubs. Funny daffodils, cheery tulips, blazing forsythias, fragrant lilacs and roses will keep you enchanted.

Guest access

Guests have the entire home to themselves, and have plenty of privacy. The area is residential and very quiet. Freshly baked croissants in the village are a stroll away. A large commercial center is 6 minutes away by car.

Interaction with guests

Our house is separated from the guests' house by a large courtyard. We live in our home permanently and can be easily reached by our guests. We are there for you for questions, inquiries, suggestions, any topic to converse about!

Other things to note

We are 5 minutes to the A10 highway allowing easy access to Paris or Spain. North or south, if you are commuting to another destination, this is a very practical layover. The Pont d'Aquitaine is about 10 minutes away and then you are in Bordeaux. The Bordeaux Lac Convention and Exhibition Center where the Vinexpo is held, is just after the foot of the Pont d'Aquitaine. We had excellent communication with Susan & Daniel regarding our arrival and although we were a little late we had the warmest welcome possible. Susan & Daniel were very generous and spent time with us on the first evening which we really appreciated. The Stone House was delightful, extremely well equipped and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The grounds we just fabulous and Susan deserves a Gold star for her house manual, visitors information and all the tips she gave us to make exploring the area easy and fun. We would definitely recommend this listing and hope we have the opportunity to return one day.

We sayed at the charming Stone House and Susan ( we didn't meet Daniel) came out to meet us. She too is charming, and very helpful with everything. Susan told us all about where to get meals and buy food. We chose the supermarket for our own supplies, as the kitchen is great . We had a delightful evening meal and breakfast. We also had a walk in the fresh green surrounds of the very large garden full of trees. We didn't have time to go to some of the attractions Susan told us about so I would really like to go back with more time!

Daniel & Susan are a lovely, hospitable couple. Communication was excellent both prior to our stay and during. The written information as well as the guidance they provide is the best we've ever experienced. The stone house is nextdoor to them and they are on hand to assist if needed. It's set in beautiful grounds which you are free to wander. The house is well equipped and clean. We travelled with our 10 month old daughter and they provided a cot with bedding and a high chair. As we happened to be celebrating our wedding anniversary they very kindly invite us round for a drink with them sampling the local cremant! Overall a wonderful experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Susan and Daniel are very welcoming and friendly people! It's a very nice guesthouse near the property of the owners themselves. The house is well equipped and has a beautiful garden with great BBQ facilities. The place is right in the middle of the famous Bordeaux vineyards. On a small drive of Bordeaux city!

We had a wonderful time in st Gervais. We stayed at Daniels and Susans place for a week. We felt very welcome from the first moment we arrived. Susan and Daniel are very friendly, warm and enthusiastic people and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The little attentions in the house were so nice and made us feel at home instantly. The house itself is very charming and the garden is beautiful. There are a lot of things to see in the surrounding area and Susan had some great recommendations. In the house there is a lot of touristic information as well. We hope to come back some day! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

When you are in Bordeaux area, we can fully recommended you to stay in the Susan and Daniel's Little House! We stayed couple of days, arriving late and with full plan to visit people and places, we only met Susan and Daniel when leaving, and actually it was a pity. When we visit next time, we need to plan it other way :-) The Little House is not so little as it has a place for all 5 of us. Clean, with nice atmosphere and detailed explanations of what to visit and see in Bordeaux and the region. I can fully recommend!

Susan and Daniel manage to combine incredible efficiency with great warmth meaning you feel at home straight away and have all the information you need. We stayed four nights and managed to pack in a huge amount thanks to our hosts local knowledge, very well presented information and great communication skills. The stone Cottage, which was very clean, is a charming old building and has all the equipment you would require in your own home. The grounds in which it is set are delightful and we enjoyed strolling in them. Susan and Daniel have is a great holiday and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them if you want a nice, relaxed, happy holiday on a beautiful setting.
