Super close to the Walker Art Center, Convention Center, Downtown, Uptown, and the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes! Great grocery stores, coffee houses, fresh juicing/health food cafes, amazing restaurants of all nationalities, sushi/oyster bars, etc.... This 5-star location can't be beat!

The space

SUMMARY: Third floor master suite sits atop a large historic single-family home in a great location. Up the central staircase, past large stained glass windows, is your private entrance: a final staircase to the third floor suite. Oversized bedroom & sitting area, kitchenette, and private 3/4 washroom.

EXTRA BUNK ROOM: up to two more guests may stay in this cute little twin-bunk room for an additional $75 first night, and $65 each night thereafter. Bunk guests share the suite bath, but may also use the 1st floor powder room.

SLEEPER SOFA: if you want even more room, we have a full-size (aka double) Crate & Barrel sleeper sofa in the living room. An added $65 first night and $55 thereafter. Also shares suite bath and may use 1st floor powder room. This is in the middle of our main house living space, so only used for overflow when absolutely necessary to fulfill guests' needs, only for night sleeping, and with the understanding that there is very little privacy as it is adjacent to the entryway. The upside is that there is a wood burning fireplace in front of the bed, and if you'd like to have a fire, we can arrange one for you!

SUPERBOWL: Monday 1/29 - Wednesday 2/14. All beds have Gel Memory Foam toppers. Rate is $695 for two and $150 pp up to 2 extra on a deluxe tall queen air mattress en suite. Bunk room available on 2nd floor at $250/pp/night; Full-size sleeper couch in Living Room available at $200pp/night-- share suite bath & kitchenette plus use of 1st floor half-bath. Ride service $150 hourly, with a two hour daily minimum in a 7-passenger Toyota Sienna with leather quad-captain's chairs, 3rd row leather bench, and premium sound system. Laundry, Meals, Shopping, etc. by request. Kirsten is an experienced personal assistant. She's creative, knowledgeable, and has worked as a PA both in state and on convention travel assignments.

Guest access

Access: includes main floor living room, front porch, back deck, yard & garden. Upright Steinway piano in living room. Pro adjustable height basketball hoop in back, balls in garage. Close to various gift and clothing shops, delicious restaurants, grocery stores, local/organic co-op, and farmers markets. Convenient laundry closet on 2nd floor ($5). Mini-fridge, microwave, coffee & Nespresso in suite. Easy and convenient street parking.

Interaction with guests

Interaction: We're friendly people. We'll leave you alone when you're upstairs in your suite, and you can choose whether or not to interact with us socially. If we're cooking a family meal, entertaining guests, or even going out, we may very well invite you to join us.

Other things to note

Lowry Hill / Kenwood is the BEST area for convenience, safety, and charm. Please check our guidebook and photos for recommendations and maps/distances to common destinations. NFL execs and players own or have owned properties in the immediate area.

Quiet enjoyment. No smoking. If you have a smaller dog who is friendly, quiet, well-behaved, and potty trained, we can make it work for a small added fee. Sorry, we can't take dogs that bounce on us and the furniture.

House Manual:
You are welcome here! It's not a 5-star hotel, but you know that. :) You will have a lovely time in our home, neighborhood and city. If you need anything, just ask! Your overall rating of 5 stars is VERY important to us-- for our reputation and for your happiness.

Arrival: Call or text my mobile # to arrange entry. We'll give you a key. To unlock, it's just a quarter turn counter-clockwise. No need to lock on your way in or out-- it auto-locks. Remember to leave the key here when you go!

Summer: Whole house central a/c, but also a portable unit for the suite that works as a/c, heat, or fan as needed.

TV: Basic cable TV and Chromecast in suite. You will need to use the Chrome browser and add the Chromecast plug-in, or download the app to your mobile device.

Internet: Wireless allows computer streaming anywhere, and an Ethernet port is in suite as well. Wireless password: AirBnB713

Early/Late: as long as you're respectfully quiet, any time of entry/exit through the main home is fine.

Shower: Oops, the plumbing is backward! The further you turn the knob, the colder it gets, so to get hot water, just barely turn it on.

Microwave: If the button sticks, just press the upper corner and it should release.

Food waste: Please keep the drains clear by taking all food waste and dirty dishes to the main kitchen.

Dogs: Two small dogs (under 10#), Bugsy is 10 and Bitty is 3 years old. They are sweet pups! Bitty is more excitable and sometimes tries to be a guard dog (unaware of the futility, given her size). They're mostly quiet except for deliveries, other dogs walking by, and the occasional cat lurking outside, but shouldn't bother you on the third floor. We kennel them when we aren't home.

Kids: There is one busy and responsible teen at home, but usually out, doing homework, or playing video games. Our adult child occasionally returns, but he lives in SF now, so not often.

Kirsten & Bruce's home is ideally located between Uptown & Downtown, steps away from the lakes for morning runs or walks, and close to fabulous Kowalskis, the best fresh grocer around. They are wonderful, warm people who enabled me to enjoy two nights rest & recuperation between business meetings, offering the perfect balance of friendship and privacy. I hope I can find an excuse to return to Minneapolis soon to stay with them again

Staying at Kirsten & Bruce's was the perfect airbnb experience. The location is fantastic - Lowry Hill is an older neighborhood of large homes, and it's easy to walk from there to Loring Park, downtown, uptown, Lake of the Isles, and the neighborhood itself has plenty of charm and amenities (stores, cafes, restaurants, the Walker Art Center). The room is large and comfortable, with a sitting area, nice bathroom, fridge and microwave, big tv, and a nice bed. And Kirsten and Bruce are just great - super friendly, helpful, warm, and welcoming. They helped point me in the right direction for a few things I wanted to do or find, and made some great suggestions based on what I said I wanted to do or see. If I were to return to Minneapolis, I would definitely stay here again, and would check availability here first before looking elsewhere.

This was my second time staying with Kirsten and Bruce, and it was every bit as delightful as the first time. The suite is so pretty and well-appointed, and the mattress is wonderfully sleep-inducing! The location couldn't be better if you like to walk. It's just a few blocks from Lake of the Isles, and an easy, pretty walk to the Walker. Kirsten and Bruce are friendly and helpful, always eager to know if there's anything you need. And the dogs are adorable!

The space offers a sitting area in addition to the bed & bath. I found it a good work space. Kirsten & Bruce are genuine people and natural hosts.

Fabulous location near the lakes and a short walk to several restaurants, cafes, and bars. On street parking is always available and the house is great - there is even a backyard with outdoor seating if you are lucky enough to have time to chill and enjoy the sunshine. Kirsten and Bruce were both friendly and welcoming, but also gave me my personal space when I retreated into my room. Can definitely recommend.

Kirsten & Bruce are great hosts and very kind people. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend in Minneapolis (our first time there) and it was a great choice. The space was beautiful, private, and comfortable. We enjoyed the location as well; we walked to the Walker Art Center ( a short walk from their place) and through downtown to the Mill Ruins (a longer walk, but great for seeing the city). Parking on the street was very easy, so we also used our car for longer trips. Their dogs are adorable, although I am still not sure that Bitty ever warmed up to us. :) Overall, we loved it and we will plan to stay there again the next time we're in town!
