The space

The space - This is my Mothers home. While she travels we would love for the flat to be enjoyed.
My only request is that you please treat the space with respect. Anything you find you are welcome to use, just make sure you put it back where you found it.

Guest Access - Guests have access to the entire flat, the patio to the front of the property, and the grounds surrounding the property. All cupboards that are tied shut are out of bounds - please respect this and do not attempt to open.

Interaction with guests - I will be there to greet you at the property upon arrival. I will show you round and answer any questions you have and issue you with a set of keys (if lost there is a £25 replacement fee). I live in Edinburgh so will be close by incase you need anything during your stay, or will be contactable by phone.
*Request* - Let me know your estimated time of arrival to the property. Notify me when you are 30 minutes away.

There are two double bedrooms - one with double bed, one with kingsize bed. Wardrobe and chest of drawers available to store your belongings.

The property does not have a shower, but there is a large roll-top bath with shower attachment. Towels and linen are provided - they are stored in the large kist in bathroom to the left of the bath. The boiler is also located in the bathroom (there will be instructions of how to use when you arrive at the property).

Whats available - Fully functioning kitchen with fridge/ freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster. In the hall cupboard you will find the iron and ironing board, hoover, torch, picnic blanket etc. Cleaning materials will be stored under the kitchen sink.
In the living room there is a large television and woodburning stove (instructions of how to safely use the woodburner will be left in the property). Wifi is also available in the property.

Upon departure - Please simply turn down your bed, do not strip bed or wash sheets.
Please dispose of all food you brought into the property in the communal bin marked number 10.
There is no cleaning fee attached to your stay so please leave the property as you found it.

Bins - Empty bin in kitchen into the black wheely bin situated in ‘the bin store’ (gravel area in carpark) with number 10 of the front. If you wish to recycle, please place recycling items in large box in kitchen.

Parking - There is free parking in the grounds. You can park either in the grounds directly outside the house or in the gravel section tucked behind the trees and fencing.

The Neighbourhood - Lasswade lies a few minutes from Bonnyrigg a small thriving town in the county of Midlothian and roughly 8 miles from the centre of Edinburgh. Its surrounded by open countryside with many small towns close by: Dalkeith, Eskbank and Roslin to the East and Penicuik to the West.

The Edinburgh City Bypass can be reached within a few minutes and every major trunk route is within easy reach. The number 49 bus comes to the end of the road and the number 31 bus runs a frequent service from Cameron Crescent 500 metres from the house.

Local amenities - Nearest supermarket Tesco Express just 1 mile away. Closest restaurants are ‘The Papermill ‘and ‘The Sun Inn’, both award winning eateries just 3 miles from the property. Straiton Retail Park is 3 miles by car and Dobbies Garden Centre just 1.5 miles by car. Local maps and bus timetables will be on the notice board in the kitchen.

We spent three nights in Emma's apartment and we had a great time. She is a very good host! The apartment is much bigger than we expected. The rooms are even cozier than in the photographs. Thank you Emma!
