Wonderful cottage on a very special property RIGHT on the river. Loved the cozy cottage and the sauna set right at the river's edge. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Such a wonderful place. Cozy little cottage, overlooking a large garden filled with flowers. Had a great traditional sauna and a swim in the water. Stunning view. Thank you for such a magical place to spend the evening!

Fredrik's place is an authentic cabin filled with everything you would expect. Plenty of space and the fireplace was a fun way to stay warm. Fredrik himself was very friendly. Overall a great exprience!

Fredrik's place was absolutely fantastic. We were lucky with some beautifully sunny weather as we arrived, meaning a sauna and snow dip was on the cards. Fredrik and Jessica explained everything very well and were really friendly. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps took us to the wrong place but apart from that it was all easy!

If there is one thing you should do when you visit Sweden, you should stay at this cabin. It is beautiful. The sauna is warm. And Fredrick could not be more gracious. This is an adventurous place for adventurous people. If you come here, expect an adventure. I am very comfortable with no running water and with sauna showering. If you need to shower, and have all the amenities of a city, there are plenty of hotels around. If you'd like to enjoy life, not see tourists and be Swedish, stay here. You won't regret it. The Arctic is a beautiful place. And one of the best places to enjoy the Arctic, is at this cabin. Do it at least once in your life.

The location is gorgeous right on the river Thorne, we were lucky to have fabulous Auroras with no light pollution. Very peaceful and rustic. The bed is comfy and you are only 7km from the Icehotel and reindeer experience. Both Jessica and Frederik are very friendly and helpful and there is plenty of wood to keep the cabin warm. Great sauna by the rivers edge with a romantic atmosphere created by candles in the boathouse. Having a car obviously a must although we did see a bus stop at the entrance. The kitchen includes a fridge so you can bring and store all the provisions for the stay.

The cabin is absolutely perfect for an authentic taste of Lapland. The cabin is cosy, without feeling cramped, a beautiful wood-burning fire keeps it nice and warm, and the shared sauna by the river is perfect for warming up after a day in the cold. I can't tell if I was more excited to stay here or the Ice Hotel!

Fredrik User ProfileFredrik is a superhost.

Welcome to Paksuniemi, I like the outdoors a lot and enjoy to fish, hunt and gather and try to grow more vegetables here in the short summer up north.
What I like the most with this place here in Paksuniemi village is the calm and quiet, that you can hear a neighbour far away hammering, or a husky hauling in the distance, there are no disturbing noice inbetween.
When I can I enjoy travelling away to discover our beautiful planet, and enjoy also coming back home.
Im working in my own company as a photographer.
Welcome!
