Charming, simply charming! Wonderful 1st time AirBNB experience. Our host was most accommodating and hospitable. She gave us our space to come and go as we pleased but when we were at the house she was welcoming and engaging. A wonderful conversationalist with a wealth of life's experiences. So nice to be somewhere for an overnight and actually have conversation with others, so unlike a hotel. Very warm personality that was felt throughout our stay.

Thank you Lil, I felt the same way about you. I think Asheville will be missing out on this more personal experience which is far more fulfilling and community minded. I am so pleased that you stayed with me. It is a privilege to have gotten to know you.

Deborah was absolutely lovely. My boyfriend and I both had a wonderful time enjoying her incredible hospitality, calming backyard, and fresh made scones and coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend this location to everyone. We are definitely looking forward to coming back! Best of luck, Deborah!

Thank you so much, Deborah, for sharing your beautiful home and a little of your interesting life with us! You greeted us in the evenings with glasses of wine under the walnut trees and spoiled us with delectable breakfast treats. We slept so well on the super-comfortable bed, and the guest room was lovely! To be surrounded by your gorgeous artwork was an inspiration. Best of all were the great conversations we shared with you. We hope to have the chance to continue them in the future. We wish you luck in your struggle to maintain your small corner of paradise.

Deborah's airbnb was a great cozy room in an old house with lots of charm. Her studio is in the bottom floor and we enjoyed chatting about art, and where she painted her landscapes. Deborah gave us lots of good restaurant recommendations and places to go. It was also a great location close to downtown.

We had a wonderful experience at Deborah's cottage. Deborah is kind and interesting and made us feel very welcome in her home and in Asheville. She greeted us in the morning with fresh coffee and the local paper. The cottage is conveniently located and in a beautiful area -- a lovely natural oasis. Our room was clean, comfortable, and inviting. I would definitely recommend staying with Deborah.

Deborah (kind yet stimulating) met me (a dusty, bedraggled traveler) at the door and so began three days of utter bliss. It is hard to believe that Deborah’s oasis – this haven of natural beauty – is so near the heart of downtown Asheville, but it is. My room was absolute perfection: peaceful, clean, restful, simply beautiful. The walls and furniture the color of the sea, sheer curtains that created the most serene and lovely light. The clean, white linens tied with a light green ribbon. A gorgeous bureau had four empty drawers that easily housed my possessions. I fell onto the wonderfully comfortable bed with freshly scented white sheets and had a heavenly sleep. After awakening to the sound of birds, I showered in the lovely bathroom, natural soaps provided. Deborah made an absolutely delicious cup of coffee in her perfectly organized, charming kitchen and sat with me at her table. A long-time resident of Asheville, her fine sensibilities, grace, sensitivity and generosity of spirit make her the consummate host. Deborah has an obvious reverence for her cottage, maintaining the integrity of its history and honoring its beauty. I was then given free reign in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been – her back yard. Ancient trees, lush green all about, flowering bushes, bamboo, and a stream that extends the entire length of her property. The sound of a hawk. Cicadas. All manner of flora and fauna. Each morning I spent a good hour intoxicated by the beauty of her land. Two comfortable wooden garden chairs and a table beside the stream for writing, solitude or conversation. There is another dimension to the beauty Deborah provides her guests: her extraordinary work. I have met many artists in my life but never anyone of Deborah’s emotional depth and reverence for Nature – a truly dedicated and accomplished painter. Her paintings surrounded me during my stay – a continual feast for the eyes and for the spirit. Rarest of all, Deborah is not an ego-driven artist but one who cares about her fellow man (and, of course, that extends to her guests). Anyone who enters her home is fortunate indeed. Thank you, Deborah.
