Spacious newly renovated 1BR in vibrant H Street Corridor. Just steps away from the Capitol, National Mall, Union Market, Gallaudet University, downtown, and more. You'll easily get to any of our Nation's Capital sites by foot, bike(-share) or public transport. Whether restaurants, bars, supermarket or even yoga classes, everything you may need or desire is close by. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space

We love our home and neighborhood and hope you do too!

A newly renovated English basement in a 100-year old colonial townhouse on the H Street Corridor—one of DC's trending neighborhoods. The space is bright and clean with all comforts of a home. There is a spacious living room, open kitchen with island equipped with new appliances and all basics, large windows, and washer/dryer.

Over the past year, we renovated the apartment ourselves, paying attention to every small detail. We hope you love and appreciate the modern, industrial design and unique look as much as we do.

The door has a code, so you’ll have the flexibility to check-in on your own schedule.

The kitchen is stocked with all the basics for cooking: pots, pans, salt, pepper, coffee, etc. There's an iron and ironing board, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fresh towels, sheets, blow dryer, and even a Netflix guest account.

Whether you're staying for just a few days or a month, we've got you covered.

Guest access

You’ll have access to the entire basement apartment. Guests are asked to enter and exit through the front door and use the back door only in case of emergency. We'll provide you with a code for the entrance, so no check-in coordination is required…and no fear of losing the keys either :)

Interaction with guests

While the unit is completely separate, we live just upstairs. We're happy to give you tips for enjoying the city or leave you to relax quietly.

Catherine was a great host and has a phenomenal English basement unit very close to Whole Foods & the bustling H Street corridor. There's even a cable car that will take you to Union Station (red line metro, Greyhound buses, Amtrak).

This place has its own funky vibe to it and it's so worthwhile to stay at if even for a day.

Stayed a month. Had a blast! Catherine and Lucas are super hosts. They live upstairs and are always available and super friendly. The place was recently remodelled (complete makeover really). Very chic. High end appliances, LG room heater/ac with remote, modern shower, concrete counter center island with seating. The neighborhood is wonderful too - the H-street corridor. Has a free Street car that runs up and down H. Lots of bars and restaurant. My last night there I ate at Le Grenier, a wonderful low-key French place less than two blocks from the apartment. Transportation is easy - take the Street Car to Union Station to catch the metro. Plenty of on-street parking in that neighborhood if you prefer to drive. I spent a total of 5 months in DC for work, changing airbnb locations once a month to learn different neighborhoods. This place was by far my favorite.

I am an interior designer and I found this English basement very much a treat! You can tell every attention to detail was met and they had fun doing it! The epoxy floor is so beautiful and practical! I could go on... but just look at the pics!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment was very clean and spacious, had all the ammenities we needed, and was so convenient to public transportation. Whole Foods is just down the street and was such a bonus. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Catherine User ProfileCatherine is a superhost.

Originally from Germany, my Argentinian husband and I moved to DC in 2010. We instantly fell in love with this city. An international town full of young professionals, we felt home right away and decided to make DC our home. I'm a marketing professional at a software development company, and LOVE my work, but equally enjoy traveling, eating and hanging out with friends.
