Cabina Morada is one of three EcoVida Green Cabinas that are all in the same building but all have their own separate entrance, patio, kitchenette and private bathroom. Cabina Morada (Purple) has a king bed, hot water, gas stove, small fridge and wifi. We are only a few blocks from one of Costa Rican's cleanest beaches, Playa Bejuco. Groceries, restaurants and public transport are all within walking distance. We have an on-site office that can provide directions, info or book tours.
Our cabinas offers a cozy alternative to higher priced units at our beach. We have wifi in every unit, along with a compact stove, oven and small fridge, not to mention coffee maker, blender and all the utensils you will need for your stay with us. Sheets, towels and soap provided.
Cabina Morada does not have AC but does have a good quality fan and screened windows.
These are private rooms with a deck (recycled plastic) behind our recycled shipping container building.
Laundry is available for $5/wash and $8/dry ($13/load). Ask for details.
Interaction with guests
Our office in the front is open Monday through Saturday, 8am to 4pm for any questions or tour bookings. Outside of office hours, please email us as we check email frequently. We are happy to help with any planning or questions. Our office offers boogie board rentals, tours, restaurant recommendations and more. There is also a detailed guests guide in each cabina with additional information and recommendations.
Other things to note
During your stay please note that we compost and recycle so please don't throw it in the garbage. We also have a treatment plant that turns all waste water into clean water that we use for irrigation so please do not flush garbage down the toilet. We have a lot of trees around us so keep an eye out for iguanas, monkeys, scarlet macaws and toucans!
Possibly noted already, it is important to remember that the ocean can be a dangerous place. If you are not familiar with rip currents, please ask and we will be happy to tell you about how to exit a rip current if you are a strong swimmer or not.
Please turn off all fans, (A/C if applicable), lights, etc., when you are not in the cabina. The outside light should be turned off unless you are out and returning to the cabina at night. If the outside light is on while you are in the cabina at night, you will find many insects are drawn to the unit.
Please remember to take your key with you and lock the cabina when you leave. Do not leave any valuables in the open and close your curtains. Even in our secluded cabinas, petty theft could happen. Please don't be a target!
If you hear a engine-like noise outside the back of the cabinas, it is the water pressure pump. When we experience low pressure or outages, the pump will run periodically. When it is needed, we try to turn it off by 8pm and may turn it on again at 7am the next morning if the pressure is still low or there is an outage. Thankfully we have a backup water supply and pressure pump as we do experience water shortages and low pressure from time to time.
