A unique and bohemian home close to many restaurants, retail, and Duke.
Please Note*** I have 2 cats - apologies for those with allergies who cannot stay with me.
You'll find a very colorful and cozy ambiance. Clean and comfortable. The house has character as it was built in 1953.
The room is the largest in the house with a Queen bed. I have an air mattress that can also be used on the floor. There is a working type writer in it if you're feeling creative.
I strive to make my home a welcoming space for all. My house reflects my lifestyle; mostly organic, eclectic, low-key, simple.
There is only 1 bathroom in the house so it is shared. It is very small so it is a chance to practice the popular "tiny home" living.
You can smoke outside.
Tea and/or coffee is usually stocked, help yourself. There's also a great coffee shop just a stroll away.
There are 2 bikes that can be used.
Washer and dryer.
I only use mild chemicals to sanitize the bathroom, kitchen, and floors.
I have Netflix and HBO in the living room which you are more than welcome to watch.
I know Durham very well and consider myself a seasoned local. Consider staying with me as an authentic Bull City experience.
My home is a safe space for LGBTQ and people of all nationalities.
Please enjoy the living room, kitchen, eating nook, and back yard. The back porch is a lovely place for morning coffee or meals.
Interaction with guests
I work partially from home and when I'm not working, I'm often making or creating something in or around my house. I can be very social, I love to give recommendations and talk about Durham, but I'm also very comfortable with silence and appreciate tending to introverted tendencies.
Other things to note
My sister's dog sometimes stays with me during the week but I won't have her while I have guests. If you have an allergy, please consider this. If you have a well behaved animal that you're traveling with, let me know and we can discuss the possibility of staying with pets. Basically, I don't want to risk any damage like chewing, scratching, or pets who aren't house broken. If you're confident that your pet won't do these things, then I'll be open to it.
