This cottage is amazing. Path to the cottage is rough and rugged (better rent a 4x4) but it worths the 5 minutes drive from the main road. The view, the house. Everything is perfect. Jennifer and Chrispin are nice hosts. Always there to help to discover the island. Jennifer cooks very well too. Chrispin is a good guide and a good driver. I spent a real good time in this cottage and I recommend.

If you love nature, don't hesitate and book this place! August was my second stay and like the first is exceeded expectations once again!! Last year I came on my honeymoon. This year I brought my parents and we were fortunate to try out the newly built family unit. Jennifer and Crispin are brilliant in designing, building and operating a world class boutique tourism accommodation. From the moment of arrival they were there to take our bags, crack open a fresh coconut, and more. The dinner (optional add on) that Jennifer makes is very memorable and generous: 3 courses of gourmet island cuisine YUM! And the morning breakfast each dawn was for example one morning freshly baked banana loaf hot right out of the oven, seasonal fruit and the most delicious cinnamon tea!! The kitchen is fully equipped and was great to have so bring up a few groceries when you come as you may want to retreat up there. I was working on a book and was delighted to have so much focus that I wrote two chapters with all the peace and quiet. Other memorable moments were hummingbird watching from the patio and stargazing at night. We will be back-this is truly a paradise in Dominica.

Our trip to Dominica was a wonderful adventure but our stay at The Hideaways is what really put it over the top! These hosts are kind, gracious and more than hospitable. They are passionate about hosting and making sure guests have an enjoyable stay. The amenities were great! The house was eco-friendly and cleaned daily. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning overlooking the spectacular views. The bathroom was extremely nice and the kitchen was fully equipped.

We had an amazing trip! Spent 5 days at the end of June and got to see variety of weather - rain, sunshine, rainbows, beautiful clouds, unforgettable hikes and even more breathtaking views. Everything is so green and lush. Dominica is a beautiful country. We are so glad we were able to experience it in this time of the year when they are not too many tourists. The hosts Jennifer and Crispin were extremely helpful in dealing with unexpected travel and weather issues, as well as recommending activities and places to visit. They were available if we needed them but also gave us privacy. The provided breakfast was really great with fresh fruit, lemon grass tea and baked goods. They also went the extra mile to help us experience traditional Dominican cuisine and cooked a mind-blowing meal and accommodated 3 vegetarians :) Also, very happy that they paid attention to little things we didn’t even asked for (like that we drink our coffee with milk) and discretely bringing some homemade creamer in the morning. The place itself was amazing and had everything you could need. Not even trying to describe it with words. Look at the photos. Or just visit – breathtaking! Thank you! Emil, Bogdana, Diana, Alex

I knew when we were driving up through the fields of lemongrass that we had come to the right place for our final nights on Dominica :) What a spectacular space Hideaways is- perched on the top (it seemed) of a mountain with sweeping views of water, sunsets like we'd never seen. And the cottage itself (we were in Made) was so well appointed and artful touches everywhere. Cooking there was pure heaven, with everything we needed to create a meal. We also enjoyed a delicious meal (and those morning muffins and lemongrass tea :) from Jennifer- YUM! I can picture this place being a great space for a writing retreat, romantic get-away, or like we did, two old friends exploring the most beautiful place on earth. It is a short vertical trek up to the cottage, but Crispin will carry your bags- just be aware it'll be easier if you are fit! It's very close to Picard and Portsmouth, so that's great for getting supplies. You will feel far removed from city life, though. Go, go!
