The space

Situated in a quiet residential area 15-20 minute walk east of Glasgow city centre and Queen Street Station. Two minute walk from the best coffee in town!
Our home is a typical Victorian sandstone villa with many original features and located within the Dennistoun conservation area. Two houses down is the Lady of Good Council Church, one of Glasgow's more famous modern churches built in 1966 designed by Gillespie Kidd & Coia.
Glasgow is full of landmark buildings celebrating it's rich architectural heritage and has been described as " the great ecclesiastical city, the city of the unimaginably wealthy tobacco lords, merchant city, cotton city, industrial city and second city of the Empire."
Glasgow is Scotland's largest and liveliest city. As well as it's renown Victorian and other distinct architectural gems the city has many attractions to offer including some of the best shopping ,restaurants, parks, galleries and venues. There are plenty of film/comedy/art/music festivals throughout the year.
Our house is an ongoing restoration project. We have rewired and re-plumbed and are slowly putting the house back together. Luckily we have a wealth of original features which we have celebrated as well as making sure the house is up to date and can cope with a modern lifestyle.
There are 4 very generous size double bedrooms and one single room, 2 bathrooms, 1 w.c, large dining kitchen, and large living room with open fire.
All rooms have network points. Wireless broadband is throughout the house. Underfloor heating in both bathrooms. Large walk in rain shower in main bathroom with original Victorian cast iron bath. Wood burning stoves in hall and kitchen for winter warmth. Relax in the old dining room (now lounge). Projector available on request for film screenings. The house is scattered with various treasures and toys for all ages.
Private parking can be arranged prior to arrival, plenty of on street free parking.

The villa was great and had everything we needed (spices, cutlery, towels, etc). Even a washing machine. There are 4 great bedrooms and a childrens room, which is a bit awkward when with a group of 5. The living room was super and there were even some games. Location was nice …

Verity and her brother Toby welcomed me in to the house even though I arrived rather early, gave me coffee and left stuff in the fridge for us to use. Mine was an unusual rental, given that we had the whole house all week long. Everyone loved it and on the Friday we celebrated…

Ten friends and I spend new year at Verity's house. The place is amazing. Huge, for one. But also really thoughtfully designed. It gives an illusion of being a work in progress, and the finish might not be to your gran's taste, but it's beautiful and prompted real envy among …

Verity's house has been a fantastic base for the Commonwealth Games. Well located and big enough to accommodate our large visiting party. A perfect place for us to stay.

Verity was kind enough to let myself and 9 friends take over her amazing house for 4 days over the New Year period, and what a brilliant time we had. The house is spectacular, full of character and style (we will all be pinching some interior design ideas, the main bathroom was m…
