About this listing

Calendar now open for summer 2018.

Private entrance to a spacious and private Mother-in-Law suite in one of the finest homes on Lake Wilderness. You have the whole floor to yourself.

Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, on the lake, with lake access, this is one of the most relaxing, comfortable, well-appointed getaways you can imagine, featuring a million-dollar view of Lake Wilderness.

The space

This 900 square foot unit gives you the feeling of seclusion and quiet. Enough activities here to never get in your car. A resort experience on the quiet side of Lake Wilderness just 28 miles from downtown Seattle.

Guests are awestruck by the lake views. As our guest, you may use our two kayaks and the electric-powered barge to explore the lake. Have a picnic on the barge as you putt peacefully around the lake. Gas watercraft are prohibited on Lake Wilderness which results in tranquil, no-wake water experience. Ride the included bikes on the rail-to-trail path that runs near your unit.

Enjoy the media room and watch your 60-inch HD TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix, and cable. Use the Wi-Fi. During the winter, sit by the beautiful gas fireplace and fall asleep in the comfy reclining couch. During the warmer weather, sit on your covered patio while having your morning coffee.

We offer all guests:
45 feet of waterfront, fully equiped kitchen, laundry room, coffee, tea, snacks, drinks, kayaks, electric-powered floating barge, bikes, indoor/outdoor games, zero-gravity loungers, reading materials, literature on local attractions, first aid kit.

Bring your own swimsuits, SUPs, and snorkel gear. During summer, SUPs can be rented daily for $15 hour at the public beach.

Guest access

You enter through a private entrance in the back. This is a private space separated from the rest of the home by a a door in the stairwell (see photos)

Interaction with guests

The guests set the tone of their stay. Most of the time you'll find the hosts available upstairs. Rich and Carrie are avid Hikers, Skiers, Kayakers, and Cyclists. We'll be glad to offer you plenty of local advice if asked, but we generally leave you alone unless you initiate dialog.

Be advised, the waterfront is shared space with the owners. During nice weather, we frequently take very early morning coffee on the beach. Feel free to join us.

We do travel frequently so there is possibility that we are not on the property during your stay.

Rich and Carrie were extremely hospitable and took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. The home was beautiful and well cared for and met all our needs. The location was perfect - very serene and relaxing overlooking the lake. I would highly recommend this Airbnb and we look forward to returning.

Rich's wilderness getaway is perfect for couples. Rich was a great host. Very communicative, accomodating, and friendly. The place itself is majestic and something I think anyone would fall in love with. Girlfriend and I came to town for the annual Twin Peaks Festival so we didn't get to play on the lake, but the view, location, and overall experience sincerely added to the aura of the weekend. TP fans: this is a pleasant 20 minute drive to Snoqualmie/North Bend if you're looking for a great place to stay while enjoying some damn good coffee at Twedes or catching a burger at the Roadhouse. I would stay here again in a heartbeat to spend more time at the home, on the lake, and around town.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in Lake Wilderness and this was an amazing spot. Rich communicated really well and was super nice. We took the Floating Barge out ALL DAY and simply floated in the middle of the lake enjoying the scenery, swimming, and relaxing. Kayak'd in the evening and ate outside on the deck with an awesome view. Was a great quiet spot to spend a relaxing weekend.

Both the place and Rich were great. Rich is very communicative and was helpful in resolving any questions I had. The place was amazing and the amenities even better. Our trip on the barge to the beach with my daughter and wife was great. I also enjoyed watching tv on the 60 in screen TV. I didn't get a chance but Rich also offered for me to borrow a bicycle and there was a great trail very close by.

This place was AMAZING! Wow. The views, the lake, the quietness. The electric barge! We spent HOURS out on that! We had just gotten married, and since we aren't honeymooning for another 4 months, we chose this spot to be our "mini moon" to wind down for a couple of nights. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for, and we hope to come back for our anniversary!

Rich User ProfileRich is a superhost.

I usually travel with my wife, Carrie. We like to explore the local communities but most often travel to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, skiing, etc. We have rental properties ourselves and are both very neat. We say our pleases and thank yous and Carrie has trained me to not leave crumbs on the counter or pee on the toilet seat. We are the kind of guests that we would want in our home.

Carrie also reminds me to shower each day so I usually smell good. We like it quiet ourselves so please inform us if you typically play load music late into the night while you sing along. I am a writer and you can find my two books on Amazon. It's likely that I will do some writing while I am a guest in your home.
