My place is located in the safest neighborhood in the city. At night it is so quiet and calm that you will not even hear cars go. It's only 15 minutes away from the airport (by car). The colectivos (shared taxis) can be taken right across the street which take you for less than a dollar to downtown which is where the shopping centers, night clubs, bus terminal and restaurants are located. You will love my place because of the cozy bed in the private room and fast internet throughout the house!

Guest access

You have full access the kitchen (at anytime) and living room area! After check out you can still chill in the living room if you'd like. You can also leave your bag for as long as you need. You can cook, but just clean up after you do! (that is why no cleaning fee is added).

Victoria was wonderful. She gives waterfall tours during the day and offered to take us with her. We didn't have time, but next time I would love to have that experience. Her family is so warm and welcoming. I chatted with them four hours. Really enjoyed my time. Would stay with them again.

A truly spacious, fully functional house. Feels very secure, residential area hence slightly far from the city center. But a collectivo ride will take you to the city center for a very small amount. Vicky is truly a wonderful person. Unfortunately I never got to meet her or thank her in person. On the day of checking-in and while at the airport to take our flight to Puerto Montt, I realized that my booking at Vicky's place was for the following night and not the day I was travelling. Vicky stepped-up inspite of my mistake and found us a great place at her friend's place for the night. So, she's truly a wonderful host. She helped us with our laundry, which was highy apprecaited because we were out of clean clothes beacause of our continuous two weeks of travelling. This inspite of some family commitments on Vicky's end. So, Vicky thanks again for everything and good luck to you and hope to meet you in person someday soon.

We stayed two nights at the apartment. The booking was uncomplicated and easy. When we arrived Victoria wasn't at home, but her mum was so kind to let us in and explained us quickly how to use the kitchen and showed us the apartment. At the last day Victoria arrived and actually just came two minutes to get the keys "to make it easier with the checkout". So we didn't have a chance to talk with her at all. The Pro: 1. We had a complete apartment for ourselves, with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, a small changing room and a living room. 2. Therefore the rent was fairly cheap, considering the size of the apartment. 3. The neighbourhood is also very nice, quiet and save. 4. The collectivo (cheap group taxi) also stops directly in front of the house. You have to take collectivo number 3 in the direction to Villa Volcano to get there. 5. There was coffee provided and it has been refilled after it was empty. Contra: 1. the apartment isn't near to the city centre (but you can take the collectivo in front). 2. There is no atmosphere at all in the apartment, the rooms are not decorated. It appears a little bit messy, since random things are lying around e.g. in the changing room. 3. What bothered us the most was the fact that the flat didn't appear clean. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but we think it was dirty. There was mold in the bathroom shower and the bedroom ceiling. One of the outer covers on the bed had some blood and other strains, even though the sheet in which you lay appeared to be clean. 4.The pictures of the description in AirBnB didn't represent the actual sleeping room and the apartment is actually not in the 2nd floor but in the first floor. Maybe upstairs it is cleaner. All overall we were disappointed. Some improvement on the interior would make this place much more valuable.

Victoria was very quick in responding to my request. I booked on the day of arrival and she sorted everything out for me in no time. The house can be reached easily and cheaply via collectivos right at the corner. The internet is fast and works nicely for south american standards. Victoria also gave me useful tips for things to visit in and around Puerto Montt.

The house was easliy found and provided secure parking. The bed was really comfortable and cozy. However, the room provided had no resemblance to the one in the picture. We did have an entire apartment to ourselves, but not the room we booked (and wanted). It was very cold and mould on the walls and ceiling came with a certain smell. Overall, we expected a warmer and tidier place. Vicky made us breakfast, whch was really kind. But cutlery, for example, was limited and the ktchen overall ill-equipped. We would have preferred to stay in the room in the pictures, which apparently was on the upper level, but which we did not see. In summary, there is much potential for a nice AirBnB here, but so far the effort seemed to be lacking.

Vicky was a wonderful host. I ended up not staying at her place because there was a glitch with the booking system and it turned out her place was not actually available the week I had booked. BUT when we realized this mistake, Vicky immediately set me up with her friend's nearby Airbnb, which was very comfortable, and made sure everything went smoothly. She was very helpful and flexible throughout. Thanks, Vicky!

Interaction with guests

I am a tour guide and know English and Spanish, so I know A LOT about where to go in the entire region and the best (and cheapest) way to do it.

About Victoria

I am 27 years old. I speak both English and Spanish. I studied business administration in Portland, Oregon. I live by myself in a 5-bedroom house. I am currently on my way to making it a full-blown Bed and Breakfast, but for now I accept guests in one of the rooms that has its own private bathroom.
